octy 3 bolero upgrade to columbus

Featured Replies

hello, I´m new here on this forum.

I have octy 3 2014 mib 1, bolero small screen and I´m looking to upgrade it to columbus. I dont really know if the columbus is mib 1 or mib 2 since the seller of the columbus only knows that the screen is from my2015. I ve found multiple threads on this forum and a retrofit video, but that left me with more questions than answers. If I decide to change the bolero for a bigger columbus do I need to change the unit in the glove box:? will the navigation work and can I unlock the parts in regualr skoda dealer?

thanks for all answers.

MIB1 unit is only compatible with the screen its designed for.  If going through the effort and expense you will be better off going for MIB2 especially as it can have smartlink enabled.

With MIB2 there is some cross compatibility with screens.  You will need a new glovebox unit and have the component protection removed (this is not needed for the screen), then have it coded to match the car and have smartlink enabled at the same time (speak to pab567 for this).  The dealer should be able to do the CP removal of the glovebox unit but the final coding will need to be done by someone with the correct kit (pab567).

Budget in the uk £600-1200 depending on spec.

Hello, I have an octavia for October 2013 with radio bolero, I want to remove bolero and put the cd system 5Q0035864C and screen 5E0919605M I have several questions, should I encode something with vagcom? Do I have to do a new cable installation? I am from Spain and moving is impossible, I don't know if there is a tutorial

thank you, I have access to glovebox unit from octy3 fl possibly my2019, if I pair it with columbus in my 2014 is there any chance of working?

@AdamSVK pls write detail model numbers of your current screen and glove box unit as well as the ones you want to buy. This is the only way to give 100% correct answers.

@Vitmoreno pls post exact model numbe rof your current glove box unit (you can chcek it in menu SETTINGS / SYSTEM INFORMATION) but probably you do not need to exchange any cables - just to cut with a knife excessive plastic trims in 1 or 2 plugs of LVDS HSD video cable between screen and glove box unit. new unit must be hacked, there is no other way to get full functionality.

Perfect, when I can put the serial number of my unit and last question, is there a tutorial to hack the unit with VagCom? Thanks

You cannot hack the unit with VagCom...

Hello, thanks for the answer, I would like to learn how to do it before spending high money what diagnostic machine you use to hack?

I'm sorry this is not a kind of knowledge I can share.

Lo siento, este no es un tipo de conocimiento que pueda compartir.

I understand, I suppose that knowledge only shares if there is money? Was this forum meant for help if you want to speak privately?

Privately I will not share it either. I am not selling my solutions and I will not publish them anywhere.

En privado tampoco lo compartiré. No estoy vendiendo mis soluciones y no las publicaré en ningún lado.

I was referring if you monetize for that work to know the price to know if I can afford to buy the new multimedia system, thank you very much
