Hi, current setup of the headlights gives very poor output at night on highway and in deep valleys where there is sheer darkness.

I am looking to upgrade its stock H4 bulbs to something better which makes night driving easier on highways.

Let me know which one would be the best for the car. Visibility is my only requirement.

If there are other ways to increase visibility, let me know so! thanks.

Its a Pre-FL btw.

Have a look on-line at AutoExpress website, they regularly test replacement bulbs and recommend the brightest and best.

I always thought the pre-FL halogen lights were pretty good - I upgraded to some Osram Nightbreakers which made them even better.  Check the aim is right too.

+ 1 ^

+1 from above, but would defo check the alignment ... doesnt sound right I never thought the lights were that bad at all.

Thanks for the suggestions. I have got the Osram Next Generation Nightbreakers delivered, can someone tell me how to install them? I'm a complete newbie in this case.

Given the traffic conditions in India and people who 90% of the time drive with their high beams on, it's difficult to see what's on the road as well as the highways / expressways are pitch black during night.

Fitting Spotlights / Driving lights or a Light Bar might be a better solution to light up roads if there are no other users about to dazzle.

Aah, I had missed the India context.  Yes, I have experienced the night-time traffic of Mumbai, Delhi, Ahmedabad and a few other places - the use of lights does seem to vary between none at all to everything switched on to maximum!  A pair of driving lights may well be a good solution.... something like this:

Doubt it!
Look more like Hella copies.

Dunno - found the picture from an old discussion on here. Car is/was in Australia

Although I am of an age where I did fit Cibies to my Escorts and Chevette's and can confirm how awesome they are I can also say some of the newer LED light bars just on another planet.

But they vary massively in performance.

Id also add the I've had Xenon's and LED lights in other cars but my current FL Yeti with Bi-Xenon's together with Halogen high beams (H7 Osram Nightbreaker) have the best high beam range of any car I've had.
