Oh don't go getting people talking again! They've only just shut up after last time!!

Hi all

I've just come back from a few days biking in France,,,,,,petrol was in excess of 1.40 euros almost everywhere, hopefully cheaper in Belguim & Germany!

M20 south was clear all the way, but with a very short 50mph section.

If your filling up in Dover, there are 2 pertrol stations on the road to the ferry. One almost as you enter dover and another about half a mile up the road.

There was little or no additional security at the Port.

Cheers Lance,

I'll be filling up at the Total station as you get off the tunnel, then fill up approx 200 miles later, mates Elise dosen't have a huge tank range!!!

I'll be leaving there before 10:30am to head up to the services in Belgium.

If I'm not doing laps as well, my helmet is available

i didn't think it was a requirement that you use a helmet , or are you just wearing it as a precaution , i'll dig mine out just in case anyway .

Guys

Running around trying to organise myself for the Ring trip at the last minute - sorry if I've missed this - but what are the european driving essentials - spare bulb kit and first aid kit??

Also - quick sanity check, I'll need my driving licence, passport, Euros and anything else is a bonus (albeit a very useful bonus in the case of travel insurance and breakdown cover...).

Anything I'v obviously missed (except missus seandolan and my car....)

Thanks!

I'm taking mine as a precaution for when Shifty takes me round!

Actually, if its not a requirement I may not bother as I find I have better sensory awareness with no helmet on, and it makes it easier to flick eyes to the rearview mirror. :) With my helmet on, my "head" is crushed against the roof lining. I'll still bring it though.

Other essentials Sean are a hi-viz jacket - something I've yet to sort out, and I think a warning triangle as well, which I have managed to source. :)

you can usually pick up a high viz jacket off the side of the road , there always a few seen on my journey to work :D might need a wash though , the AA website has a list of all the essentials that are required for each country we are driving through . i think i will bring my helmet also , i didn't find it a problem regards headroom though when i did Oulton Park track day last year

I think the hi-viz is for France and other bits are for Germany. Not 100% but it pays to have everything. I'm willing to bet the ferries sell it all at a nice premium. :D

Wow' date=' talk about instilling me with confidence!! But if anyone should be used to his driving, I guess it should be me [/color']

I didn't find it too much of a restriction on Anglesey, thought I would do. I may pinch it from you now and then to make me feel better!!

Loz , your head might be ok but your body will be sore after a car/armco interface , lets hope there are no incidents

Don't forget your insurance certificate, driving licence, green card if needed, MOT certificate if required.

Also just in case have a spare bulb kit, warning triangle, Hi-Vis Vests, a coat, umbrella, and a jumper, the weather is very changable.

I'm ready to go!!

Car (inc paperwork), passport, credit cards, passengers and some clothing....that's it.
