its £300.63 to be prescice! ;)

I like to make sure I have enough, better to be safe than sorry! My bank charges to take money out abroad and I'm a tight git who doesn't see why i should have to pay to get my hands on my hard earned money!! So I will take plenty and buy stuff on my card when I can (apparently its free to use it in a shop! ) Also, I will save a few for the next trip as we will be passing through euro countries like france on the way there and back! Will need to source some Czech Koruna for that one too!

Cheers Carsten,

be good to see you again.

I hope everyone is nearly all set.

I still haven't got everyones details yet so will be PM'ing them directly today.

Hi all

Those concerned about having enough cash, remember that 'lap' tickets, even when bought in bulk, make a fair dent in your cash reserves!!

Cards can be used at the Ring, however I think (but am not 100% sure) you can only use these in the office, and as it's likely to be busy over the weekend the office is likely to have a queue.

Can anyone confirm if the ticket machine takes cards?

There are plenty of ATM machines in Adenau for those in need of more cash.

Lance

Last time I was there, ticket machine was cash only. Also keep in mind you may need your pin number for any card used.

good stuff. If he needs the vagcom for anything I'll be bringing mine with me anyway.

can anybody tell me the current prices for the laps on the ring ?

around €13

thanks Roo , just checked out Ben Lovejoys very good website , 15 laps = E195 , 1 lap =E16

UPDATE 9th August 2006 13:00pm

Hello everyone,

Well its getting very near to the trip now, i hope you are all looking forward to it.

I am have to admit, its been a very different organisational challenge for this trip but i hope that it all turns out OK.

I hope i won't get lynched if the Centre Parcs isn't up to scratch!!!!

Right i have separated the names in the list below so you all know who's in your Villa's.

i hope this is acceptable to you all.

as you can see i'm still waiting for details from 3 people so far.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Wrighty_RS total 4 people 2 rooms- definate tunnel 7:58am- Paid

I Would send you Shifty's details, seeing as he's being stooped and not doing it, but I don't know his postcode!

As far as I can tell its only about 250 miles from Dunkerque to Nurburg, so i reckon that bit of the journey will be fairly quick. I want to go straight to the villa/s as well, so I can unload my car and possibly swap wheels as I don't want to do any laps fully laden. I'll also be carrying diesel in the back of my car in a jerry can.

Looking forward to it though!

It is in the region of 250 miles, however travelling in a group does tend to slow a journey down considerably, especially once stopped for fuel/toilet/coffee. We are likely to meet at the services around 11-11:30 and not get away until noon and I'd suggest everyone has enough fuel to cover at least 175 miles. I'd really suggest not stopping until 'well' the Ring side of Brussels. You/we really don't want to be near Brussels as rush hour/s approach.

I'm not staying at CP and will therefore be heading straight for the Ring and happy to guide people there if need be, and help out at the circuit if anyone is uncertain of anything.

why not use the chippys postcode: FY4 2QL

stooped being a new way of spelling stupid so that you pronouce it how I said it in my head!!

Could everyone travelling on the 8am Norfolkline ferry, please pm me your mobile number. I'll pm it to everyone else who replies so that way we can all meet up easily enough at the terminal, as people are coming from different directions and so that everyone will not be walking past each other 15 times before finally realising who each other is once we get to the services in Belgium to meet up with the tunnel lot.

Or we could all just meeet up at Maidstone services at 6.15am as we need to be at the port for 7 apparently.

You have my number right? Don't mind if you pass it on to others. Pretty sure I have yours as well. I say we meet just outside the ferry port for 6.55. Must be a layby or car park somewhere close to the ferry we can all meet up and convoy from?

The events of the last couple of days could make my arrival on the Saturday interesting. Hopefully the plane wont be to delayed, infact I hope everything is back to normal by Saturday 19th or as near to normal as possible.

yep, still got your number.

The only real place I can think of to meet up would be Maidstone services on the M20 at around 06.10. The only other places are just outside Dover on the A2, A McDonalds and a travelodge type place. Other way would be to just meet in the terminal as we would not be too far apart on the rows, so could meet up and grab a coffee.

MaccyDs carpark sounds ideal if its well clear from the road. :)

I'm confused now :)
