Hi my Fabia has the 1.4 BXW 63kw engine 

 

I got it last July and I've noticed there's a clicking/tapping noise at idle, it seems to tap to a different rhythm.

 

Had anybody had the same issue with this engine.

 

Could it be the tappets/lifters

If it's different to engine speed then look for something loose like exhaust heat shielding.

Thanks I've had a good look around today for any loose parts and I took the exhaust shield off today while I changed the oil.

 

I'm going to take the aux belt off and let the engine run for a couple of minutes to see if it's a slack pulley or bearing.
