At least the GP hosts are flexible enough to maintain the calendar; shame about the Turkish GP with that mad turn 8.

Just watched the feature race. The team whose driver is always hyper aggressive on lap 1 are seemingly very upset that it didn't go all his way this time. Maybe he shouldn't run the opposition off or

Good run of races coming up for RedBull now. Pole at Monaco should give Max a win, and now 2 races at Zeltweg...for some reason the Honda has always been much more competitive at higher track altitudes.

Have they remembered to fit the "long vehicle" plates to the back end? ;)

I’ve forgotten what the McLaren/Gulf connection was.  I can only relate it to the Le Mans GT40s.  Can you remind me please?  Thx

Bruce McLaren and Gulf sponsoring in the 1960,s.

Doh! Are Gulf now sponsoring McLaren?

'they renewed their relationship'. So that will include social distancing and the crossing of Palms with silver or bit coins.

Since 1968 at least...

It was nice having Ben Edwards on the BBC 5 live team for a change, but some of his pronunciation made me think there was a new Scottish driver and someone named after sleeping pills:

McSchumacher and Nicky Temazepan

It's sad to think of the great sponsorship liveries like Martini, Rothmans and Gulf, will soon be replaced with the likes of Duracell, Varta and Exide (well perhaps :D )

Don't see any of that lot sponsoring formula E yet. BOSCH is the only sponsor I recognise as an electrical firm? (not that I watch it, even on Freeview).

Some were 'Simply Clever' and managed to stick with colours and design that still had people thinking Fags & Booze without being Advertising for Fags and Booze.

Vaping & Nicotine patch Companies can maybe become sponsors, and we already get the energy drinks sponsor / owners.

Ferrari and McLaren are both still sponsored by major tobacco companies using odd messages or logos representing their "non-tobacco" products.

It was meant as a joke. At least I hope so

Flexi Wings wont go away after Mercedes called out RedBull at Portimao.

After the FIA says new test standards will come in soon, there's pretty much an amnesty for now, so Ferrari and Alpine are both at the Monaco Press conference admitting "Yeah we have flexi-wings"

Situaton is becoming ridiculous and Wolff is not happy with the FIA current stance believing the FIA 4 week delay in applying new rules will lead to protests at the Baku GP.

Whilst other teams will have to stiffen up their rear wings, Wolff says Mercedes will soften theirs to take advantage of the rule ambiguity.

Other News:

Ferrari 1-2 in FP2.

Alpine open contract talks with Ocon. It seem's like the teams with Mercedes target drivers are taking early action.

William's celebrate their 750th race this weekend, becoming the third team to achieve the milestone. The total does not including San Marino 82 where they didnt race, and some other oddball events, but does include Indy 2005 where they didnt even complete the formation lap??

Seems like a serious bit of marketing ploy to me, since Frank's eponymous team had in fact already raced in F1 96 times as Frank Williams Racing Cars before it's reformation as William's Grand Prix Engineering in 1977.

Maybe they'll re-calculate in 4 races time and claim 850 GPs.

These numbers are very pinch of salt anyway. McLaren and Ferrari have both raced more times, but McLaren's merger with Project 4 was a takeover in all but name, so their history is only continuous by virtue of unchanged branding.

Likewise Ferrari probably include 1956 in their stats, when the whole racing world knows they actually ran Lancia cars all that year because their own were uncompetitive.

I wonder if that is Mercedes worst race since Spain 16.

I think they had a double DNF somewhere in the mean time ... Austria 18 maybe?

Great drives from the top 5, Vettel with the overtake of the race by all accounts,

I haven't seen it yet due to the amateur TV director specially employed in Monaco (not the usual one who does all the other races)

At least twice; once live from trackside cameras, and once recorded from the Stevenage Gangsta's forward facing on board!
