Delivery times?

We are cursed? :D

No, we are meaningless to them. There is no line here, this is already clear by now. There is no customer service. If you don't like it, **** off. They know we won't cancel after waiting so long to go into another line and pay more, so why not keep us waiting some more and keep newer and bigger customers happy, who are paying more. Simple...

  • Well 13.5 months waiting and I finally collected my Octy Estate vRS yesterday. I couldn't be happier  👍😀

  • After 13 months waiting my SEL iV Plug in Hybrid arrived.    All seems good with it so far, just to understand some of the infotainment features!

  • Just took delivery of mine but had to cancel some of the optional extras

2.0TDI vRS Estate in Silver ordered June 21.
Build date given of November 21. Build date delayed but given a status 10 allocation (which apparently is good news).
Build date given of December 21. Build date delayed.
Build date given of January 22. Build date delayed.
Build date given of Feb 22. Build date delayed.
Build date given of March 22 (this week). Build date delayed.

Now told build date is April…
Not once has the dealer contacted me with an update, I have chased on every occasion.

so that's 9 months and still counting since the car was ordered.

Why are build times sooooooooooo inconsistent for the same vehicle? 🤷‍♂️

Me either- no build date or update. It’s strange. I spoke tk a dealer this week ( not my lease provider) who said Skoda are prioritising orders made via their network. I guess it could explain the inconsistency in terms of order- delivery dates

Via their network? What does this mean?

That means orders placed directly at dealers stores as opposed to via lease companies - They also place through a branch but it’s indirect for customer. Prioritising those that walk into a Skoda garage

Mine is still supposedly due in May, no changes from last time I checked with the dealer.

No, I only have week 20 (or 22, not sure anymore), but not quite sure if it means entering production, built or arrival date.

I believe that will mean the build date- takes about a week and about 3 to deliver

Build dates mean nothing - I've had 6 now - I was also told once the car goes into production then its most likely that it will be 4 weeks before you get the car but looks like info is extremely inconsistent

Possible, like I said, I have no idea, neither does the dealer imo.

That is probably unconfirmed build date. A month ago i had it at week 19.

Few days back i got status in production, but still no info if the car is completed or in delivery... :)

So i guess that uncofirmed build date means nothing in this weird situation.

Status in production is a bit better but still same sh!t, cause something is obviusly missing!

They are still building cars, but they are probably just putting them asside and waiting for parts. That can last weeks or even months...

Must be something related to that factory that was building door panels?!? Cause how can you build cars without that?

I doubt they have more than 1 factory building door panels just for Octavia?

I agree they have been delaying build dates if once ur car actuallt is being built it’s about 4 wks so if their build date does stick May Wudnt be impossible

I think maybe that is the reason my dealer wont give me an estimate build date as i only had 2; oktober 21 and a presumably march/april 22 which got to unknown starting 22. And he only sais there is nothing of information available atm. It looks really bad and there is an only hope we will receive it before november 22 so we can use the new car for coming winter...

Are they real build dates where the dealer has provided a screen shot or similar to show that is per system info from factory.

Or is it just salesman waffle where he/she has told you something they made up by just adding few weeks to date when they informed you.

This is the latest information he is getting from the factory so I'm told? I'm resigned to the fact that delivery within 12 months (so before July 22) will be a bonus!

i got my latest delivery date this afternoon,as i said before as in other weeks gone by.delivery pushed back one week so delivery is due 18 april  and i am not holding my breath.that will make it 47 weeks since ordering.good luck to the rest of you.

I was just having email conversation with my dealer. Since the responsible salesperson has changed, he actually proactively writes every few weeks. Hats off to that gentleman.

He mentioned that orders are coming in little by little, but majority is still not delivered. Skoda's partner is busy rebuilding the door panels production line and allegedly they might have more information on the build week after week 12-16 :) So far latest tentative date was late october. I guess they expect it to move forward at some point.

Did he promise to update you? To be honest, it looks like he had nothing to update :)

I've been calling mine every now and then. Even if he said he'll inform me when things change. But i keep hoping that he forgot, and my next call would start with "oh btw its now ready and waiting for shipping". But yeah. Funny thing that my august order is in production and yours is not ;)

I wonder whats up with the door panel production. When are they really getting the production back up.

Yep, that makes a lot of sense; most of the info at the time of the fire was predicting that rebuild time would be 2-3 months - which leads somewhere between the end of March and end of April. It would be expected that once completed, that factory would work 24/7 to partially recover from "negative-stock" of inner door-panels . From that point on, I would imagine further delay will occur: cars being already built but incomplete, will have  to be returned from "banking" (I was told this is how they call the process of storing an incomplete car on a remote parking-lot) back to the factory in order to finish the car and go through QC. I'm not sure how fast they will do that; last time they did it officially, they were stopping production due to lack of components and they decided to complete some 10.000 unfinished Octavias...

I was trying to google some news on the door panel factory and found a youtube video of Octy assembly

darn, looking good 🤩

But what I can’t understand is how some parts can be installed after this, they need to be able to drive them out and park somewhere, yet there are missing something. Door panels, ok, that can’t be too complicated but other things?

Oh yeah... That video is from the good-old-times when they were able to build more than 1.100 Octys a day... I doubt that this was still achievable in the past 12-18 months. Maybe on some exceptional days when they managed to have enough stock for all the components; but the daily average over several months is surely smaller than that.
They don't need to drive the cars over the entire distance to "banking" site - they transport via trains or trucks. However, I'm not sure how they deal with those cars that are missing drive-needed components (e.g. injection computer, engine or gearbox electronics etc.); I'm guessing they're able to lift the cars on the transport platforms.
