Delivery times?

Featured Replies

But what are main reason for delays now? Semiconductors shortage? Because Skoda said main reason is war in Ukraine and harness shortage, however i saw news that harness factories work full power and doubles production, door panels are also in production. So what's problem ? O Škoda's terrible management? Because other brands have some problems but not like this...

Complete VAG group was unprepared and handling poorly this situation…

You can't say that. The entire automotive industry has been caught out and should be roundly criticised for being so dependent on Asia for its microprocessors and Eastern Europe for other parts.

Most people know that the reason being that wages and other costs are so much lower in Asia and Eastern Europe than in Western and Central Europe where costs are higher, but it really is time to cut the dependence on those and have microprocessor and electronic component factories in the UK, Western and Central Europe instead.

I agree with you totally on that…

Called my dealer today for an update and he said realistically he couldn’t give me a time frame anymore. I order started of this year and since I seen people getting a 2023 date for a car they ordered in 2021 I just gave up. Been to Audi this morning got a brand new A4 Avant for the price of the skoda so that’s me done with skoda. I hope you all get your cars in a decent time frame but I’m not holding out my hope for you.

Hey, gz on the car. You were actually able to get one from stock, available right away?

Yes mate, A4 Avant 40 TFSI black edition, sat in the show room. 20 miles on the clock all the bells and whistles. Picking it up Friday.

I only got the info that it was build and awaiting parts about 10 days ago (after i contacted my dealer). When was it build, i have no idea, i didn’t ask.
i got the VIN though… 😂 but can’t see the car in Skoda app.

Hey fellow countryman, do you think  is it actually possible to use skoda app for a car with a VIN but not actually delivered yet?

Well I can give you the answer from the first hand…the app recognise and finds the car and that’s it… it’s inactive because you can activate car only with both keys present. When you put the VIN inside it looks like this

Well friend of my ordered Toyota, ch-r Hybrid, he had to wait just 1 month, so it seem Toyota doesn't have such problems. I'm already waiting 9 months and at least 10 months ahead, thinking about cancelling order and go for KIA instead, they promise 6 to 9 months wait time.

Skoda promised 5-7, currently at 9 months. I wouldn’t trust any of the sellers…

Yeah. I also was promised 6 to 8, and now it will be at least 18 months...so that's is the only reason why i haven't canceled order. Because I'm afraid that other brand can have the same problems.

Exactly, sellers are there to sell cars, they will sure give you an optimistic scenario. But 18 months, that’s really bummer, mate 🥺

What the hell did you order?

A hybrid?

The situation here is Australia has changed a little since I bought my RS Wagon one year ago.

There are 66 RS Wagons available for immediate delivery in Australia.

The price for a fully equipped one like mine is 10% higher than I paid 12 months ago.

A few are demonstrator models but they sell at the same price as new.

Many, selling a few thousand cheaper, and sometimes described as "semiconductor-optimised" have a list of missing items:  Park Assist, Canton Sound System, Electric Child Lock, Auto Boot Cover.

I could certainly live without those.

Exactly, if he told me that i have to wait 6 to 8 months, and it would be two or three months delay, i would said ok, stuff happens. But hell 18, and you know, i have doubts it will be only 18 :D

Id be worried trusting any car brand where such a wide and long date range of 6 to 9 months is quoted as this suggests they are struggling with demand and builds too. One thing if it was a cancelling for a couple of weeks to a month wait or for an in stock car.

18 months is an average unbelievably rate. My lease car is going back this month and I’ve not got the new one or a date yet. So that’s fun…

Called my dealer today…. and surprise surprise - my Scala just arrived at the dealership. Last update was month ago, and since the end of February there was no difference - they told me the car is ready. I suspect that it was waiting for some parts, that eventually arrived. Why the dealer skipped to call me when the car was sent to Bulgaria, I have no idea… Now I have to wait for my COVID quarantine to expire till Friday, then I will be able to go and inspect the car.

There is hope I guess, keep up with the positive info guys 😊

Sent a mail to the dealer today. Still no info. The place where estimated date should be, is just empty, so the dealer has no clue. Order number and date is the same as when I ordered the wagon and month later changed it to hatchback. I don't know if this means that I didn't go back to the line month later. That would mean that this month will be 10 months since order, not 9.

Just negative info from me. Sorry.

I also sent an email to the dealer today (fishing for some news), but haven’t received answer yet. Let’s hope it’s not because of pushback…

Ok, received answer, no changes so far, waiting for parts (door panels?), still due for week 20 atm.

Week 20 starts in 7 days time

Is that parts due to arrive in week 20 or pick up from dealer in week 20 (unlikely unless already on a ship)

The big question is how long will it take to find your car from wherever it is stored and attach the parts, there could be thousands of other cars in queue for parts.  All I can say is good luck, hope not to long.

Maybe it stands for complete build, I doubt it is delivery week. According to our dealer the car usually arrives within 5 days after the status changes to Transport (from CZ to Slovenia, by road or railway I guess). Supposedly  they tend to finish cars that already have their VIN number in max 2 months. Mine is now about 1 month after being partly built with VIN.

From what my dealer told me, that stands for delivery week, i.e. car at the dealership
