  • Well 13.5 months waiting and I finally collected my Octy Estate vRS yesterday. I couldn't be happier  👍😀

  • After 13 months waiting my SEL iV Plug in Hybrid arrived.    All seems good with it so far, just to understand some of the infotainment features!

  • Just took delivery of mine but had to cancel some of the optional extras

Just an update on my own wait for my Diesel vRS. Car has been in "Final Assembly" since February. I can confirm it's true as the dealer showed me the actual order. They told me that if they are waiting on any parts this will stay in final Assembly until the part is gotten. In my case, it's something for the wireless charging.

Car ordered around October / November, built in Jan. No sign of movement since Feb and car has now gone up in price.

Being told 6 weeks every week but that's not the dealers fault to be fair, they can only provide updates based on what information they've been provided!

Have a MK3 Sportline Superb 150bhp, and to be honest, I'm starting to get cold feet 😬

Wireless charger... So it's that bad.

Style version here in Finland includes most of the 'options' found in other markets as standard. There are only few things you can order 'on top' since most of the gadgets are included. I'm scared to think when will they start building mine then. Looks like current estimate of build date around October is actually optimistic.

How much did the price go up? I'm guessing you're talking about the price of your car - that's not a good sign.

Wow!!! Didn't see that coming... Wireless charger was supposed to be an easy one, not a big deal such as more advanced electronics... 😒

I have a wireless charger as well as a part of Style package. But dealer only mentioned missing door panels. I wonder how they get these infos and how accurate they are.

I ordered same in Oct 21, my update is there is no update - still no build week etc. Considering cancelling my order and looking for an in stock deal

I haven't been given an actual exact figure, but it's 2 percent anyways... So prob like 1k or so? I'm not sure if that's on Skodas end or here in Ireland we pay extortionate registration tax.

Yeah I agree, I was meant to have mine originally around February, but no idea at all now.

I'm glad we jumped when we did as we were clearly not going to see the VRS this year. In fairness to our dealer they have been honest throughout, but I suppose it is an easy situation for them to be honest as the blame lies with Skoda. The Lexus dealer we've used were also open and honest about the delays the moment we started talking about the car we wanted. It is maybe a dealer culture thing as my experience seems to have been a bit different to others on here being fed random dates. We were simply told "there is no update" on a monthly basis, the dealer was also proactive rather than needing to be chased.

I'm suckered into it. After waiting 9 months your sort of like I've waited so long....

Need a car by the end of May and that doesn't seem likely. I'm almost tempted to wait as the market for cars is awful right now. Nothing good to lease in stock at decent prices, used prices are super high too. Thought I'd have a new car by now I have to say. The initial 16 weeks has been miles off which is annoying to say the least. Had I been told 40+ weeks I'd been not placing an order.

We bought the Lexus Glasgow demo and the deal worked out £3 more a month than what we would be paying if we waited for the VRS with the same deposit. We were 6 months in but with long trips into Ireland and Southern Germany, Switzerland and Austria planned this year we felt we couldn't wait much longer. The Astra was a great motor but it was out of warranty and never a distance cruiser.

Appreciate we were very lucky to be in the right place at the right time as the ES had only just been made available for sale. There have been a couple of VRS stock motors appearing down south, but they didn't have the options we wanted (think we saw them on the Listers website).

Today got email from dealer, he informed me that my car production is planned on 5 week of 2023 (Car ordered in 2021 august) . Also he attached letter from Skoda, where they are explaining that great delays are because of war, and because they stopped factories in Russia. I don't really understand what impact Russian's factories have on EU market, because as far as i know Russian cars only for Russian market, or i'm wrong? So total estimated wait time is 19 months (because dealer said that if everything okay, car should be delivered in march) hoooray.

@Semiconductor34

What is the Mk4 Octavia you are waiting on, engine / gearbox / trim, is it a PHEV?

What country are you in?

1,5 TSI, MHEV, DSG, Ambition, few extras, nothing problematic thought. Country - Lithuania.

Problematic if VW Group might have issues with any shortages like batteries or materials for battery production even small ones in mild hybrids.

Skoda cars registered even if lower emission ones might not be their priority in Lithuania.

Well,i just wish they have told me in the beggining, that the delivery time will be about 18-20 months,i would just go for other brand. However i've been told, that delivery time is 6 to 8 months, now that i waited for 8-9 months, to cancel order isn't good idead, because i still have old price, and if i order other brand the wait time is from 6 to 12 months. It is just sad...

Lots of people wish that they were told that lockdowns in China or Russia invading Ukraine might extend the time their new car might take and there would be fires at factories and other issues over and above the semiconductor shortage.

Quite surprised by your delay for 1.5 TSI, but this is inline with what my dealer told me some days ago (I mentioned it here, several posts back). She said they no longer accept orders for Octavia PHEV (at least here in Romania), but what puzzled me by far was that she mentioned huge delays for TSI engines; she didn't specify which TSI - the 1.5 or the 2.0. And I was even more surprised by the info she gave me, since those delays are completely unrelated to my order (2.0 TDI DSG, Style++), for which the only thing I know is that it's scheduled for production - no week specified though...

I was also told that the delivery will be around 6 months, but I'm now more than 7 months after the order with no specified delivery date...

i knew there is a few waiting longer than me for there cars.there is nothing we can do but wait it out.people say cancel you order then what?back to the waiting list again and another long wait.good luck with you getting you car soon.

A bit of PHEV specific news from Germany:

Our current government decided to end all incentives (up to 6750€) for PHEV vehicles at the end of 2022.

To get the incentives, the vehicle has to be registered in 2022. The date when it was ordered is not considered.

I know for a fact that a lot of financing/leasing was and is including those Incentives as part of a down payment to reduce the overall cost of the cars.

With the VAG/Skoda missing the delivery dates this year, they are running risk of mass cancellations of orders if they don't cover the difference on their own.

I guess i wouldn't be surprised to see a change of allocations based on stuff like that.

On the other hand they could go "F*** the Germans", get a bit of bad press, then blame it on the Government.

Wouldn't be surprised to see that either.
