On the road price is £37,970 plus whatever options you have ordered

Link is to the brochure, so you can check the prices of any extras.

Remember the £40,000 tax is based on list price (including any options) at date of registration, regardless of what price you actually pay

thank you for the info,

My Car was Completed on the 28th Aug, it was in Grimsby port by the 5th July and was today 13 July delivered to the dealer in Sheffield. I am picking it up Tomorrow afternoon. So my long wait is finally over and once the car was completed everything moved very quickly. Just hoping I like the car now :) hopefully more of you start to get deliveries over the coming Month.

Ordered a Octavia VRS estate back in Sep 2021 and was advised 30+ weeks, still no word on a production start date.

Anyone know if I can expect the dealer/ Skoda to pay for a service due or repairs because the new car has not been delivered when expected as my old car is now due a DSG service and has developed a fault?

Ask dealer for update, don’t wait for them to call you, ask them for current status so they have to look it up, some will be lazy and just waffle : sorry, no update.

Regarding service on current car, it is generally your problem to get it done and paid for it, the normal assumption being it will defer the service due dates on new car instead (due to later commencement date), so long term averages out.

However as the old saying goes if you don’t ask you don’t get, so why not push for a free service due to delay, and only if the agree, ask them to do it on current car rather than new one, if they have agreed to do one anyway.

Got a challenge for those who are waiting: Can you find your car? :D

Yesterday I got the first piece of actual info: my car has a VIN (I never had a provisional build-week from my dealer). According to the dealer there's no complete-build status in the system, but she said the good news is that the car will not go into "banking" waiting for components - apparently they can see that in the system. I really wasn't expecting any news, since it's been only 11 months since I placed the order.
BTW: I checked the VIN in MySkoda App and I got the error message, so it's probably too soon.

Can we get a little help?

Which parking lot is that?

- up to 12 month old orders

- between 12-15 month old orders

- more than 15 month old orders

😅😁😅

Feeling pretty lucky this morning, managed to get a hold of a cancelled order for a plug in VRS estate (why someone cancelled i will never know) coming in to the country the next couple of weeks. No idea how i got it signed off by the business too as my original order was for an SE tech...

Fingers crossed nothing goes wrong this time.

Are you sure you mean 28th Aug? That would mean you collected it 6 weeks before it was built, so maybe you mean April or May?

According to my dealer, it should only work when the car is in one piece. Mine worked early this week. No news still about it being delivered.

Are there more information regarding mhev engines? About production problems?

That's all I was told which is second / third / fourth hand information depending where you consider a reliable source!

Closest I can find about the link with China is here from earlier in the year. Extract quotes below from people in the know:

"There is great concern about the lockdown in Shanghai, where we have a production centre and the Volkswagen Group has a number of plants there.

Shanghai supplies us with a number of electronic components and, there is a mounting risk of delivery delays for several parts,"

"Although the lockdown in Shanghai may seem distant from the Czech vantage point, it may have strong repercussions.

The region is China's centre of car and semiconductor production, and is an important gateway for the Czech and European car industry”

What about pHev engines? Are they affected?

Sorry, ignore my question above.

I was told if ordering today it would be a 49 week wait and I saw the dealers list of cars and there must have been at least 20 cars with no build date at all. I will keep the fingers crossed.

Let you all know if it arrives.

I have heard similar but a 52 week wait.

I think what dealers will get is a lot of cancellations and people will be less open minded to buy a new car in the current situation. At least in my case I have a week or so remaining of the maximum term of 8 months that was specified in the contract and I am already looking at other options (used Mercs) so they`d get a cancellation very soon. If I get to that point - VAG would be a no no for me lifetime as how they handled the situation shows exactly what you will get in terms of quality.

The experience will change things, many people will not be prepared to wait months going forward.  It is already starting to happen here where Korean manufacturers have simplified options and are moving towards having cars in stock.  Not pre-registered, just cars at the dealership with PDI done that you can walk in and buy.  Admittedly they cannot keep up yet, so often have to wait a few weeks. But it is clearly where the market is heading.

VW Group are going to be in for big shock if they think people will wait months in the future, whilst competition is moving to new stock on the forecourt (which was the norm until 1980s).  Obviously specialist cars are different, I am talking normal mainstream cars.

i am waiting for my car which is on its way to the uk.it is a lease car and i asked if i could increase the mileage by a couple of thousand and i know this would increase my monthly cost.the answer i got surprised me.they said due to the fact i was getting the car a lot cheaper than what the cost be if i ordered it today.they would have to treat it as a new contract and my payments would be a lot higher.is this right it is only altering the milage and nothing else.any help out there or should i ask skoda directly because to me the lease company are trying it on.

I'd say VAG are not alone in having delays. It appears to be across the board. A quick Google search has BMW at approx 9 months, Volvo sold out on certain models for 2023, JLR at 6 months minimum and Merc not accepting orders for certain models.

Kia, Hyundai and now Renault are bringing out models with limited build options and a limited number of colours. This is to build them quicker and get them to the showrooms. I can see it with my nearest Hyundai dealer that has at least 50 new cars on the forecourt.
