  • Well, after a 7 month wait, I picked up my Sportline facelift today. All options present, including Canton, and the electric child locks with the family pack.

Ordered a new Sportline a couple of weeks ago, got a good deal against our current one, been advised build week 4 although I'm not expecting that to stay the same given this weeks news.

They gave you a build week?  Or were they purely guessing?

I ordered a Sportline over two months ago and have been told by the dealer no news on the build and the factory haven't even accepted the order yet!

Wow, we ordered in first week of June i have a unconfirmed build week but last two weeks i've not been ale to check it to see whats what

Hi folks,

Like a few of you guys here have mentioned, the part/ex deal on current car was too good to miss and so ordered a VRS early October with the quote for current p/x value fixed until May next year- plenty of time for delivery, or so I thought until seeing this thread! Anyway, dealer has at least confirmed the order has been accepted by the factory which I suppose is a start. Only Winter and Sleep packs added. Will review your progress/news with interest given the latest developments……

My order from June hasn't been accepted by the factory yet (last checked a few weeks ago before the system went down). I'm guessing it's because you got it directly from a dealer, and mine is via a broker (goes through a dealer as a fleet order) . They seem to be prioritising direct orders.

Just checked the status with Skoda chat today, the response was
"We are still experiencing technical issues with the update platform and are unable to check the statuses of vehicle orders. I am sorry for any inconvenience this may cause you, however, I assure you that we are working hard to resolve this, on time. I will suggest you come back to us next week and hopefully the systems will be up and running again to allow us check the status of your order."

i really dont think they are prioritising direct orders but obviously i cant say for sure. What has your broker said about not even being accepted?

2 weeks the chat has been down, i cant believe for one minute its actually genuinely broken and that they just dont want the hassle of answering people as they dont know what the hell is going on!

The broker has said we'll let you know if we get a build date.

Had a call from my dealer just now... apparently my new Kodiaq is sat in Germany, awaiting a boat over here.

So hopefully I should have it in a few weeks 😁.

Stacks up with what I have been told.  My car is part built, but they are "getting through the backlog and releasing cars".

great news some are starting to come through - enjoy

@Theo5 not having the order accepted yet i'd be tearing my hair out and asking the dealer why. Hope it get sorted soon

Yes, I ordered a new SE (5 seats) - lots of options added - on the 2nd June, under Skoda UK's then 'special offer' - which soon disappeared !

Build week 19th July, left Czech 29th August, arrived at the dealer 30th September, collected it 11th October. Delighted with the vehicle. My last three cars have been  Superb L & K  Estates, but as I get older I fancied a Kodiaq.

The dealer told me that of the 30 or so Skoda vehicles ordered for stock, showroom and waiting customers, only mine had arrived !! Not a new car in sight.

Just checked again with the Skoda webchat to see if the order tracking system is working, it's not ☹️

"I'd love to be able to check the order for you but unfortunately, we're still experiencing technical issues with the order tracker... You can try checking back with us next week to see if it's fixed by then."

i got told this week to check in a couple thats 5 weeks to fix! becoming even more of a joke now

I check the website all day and never saw the bloody chat turn up 😕 any direct link to the chat? Than i can try it also next week

Ordered a Sportline 2.0TDi 200 in Race Blue with plenty of options on 2 Oct 21. Was quoted 28 weeks for delivery, so quite a long wait, but have my current Sportline 2.0TDi 190 on a PCP until Jan 23, so plenty of flex for any possible delays to the quoted delivery.

I've loved my Kodiaq, looked at an Enyaq but just a bit too compromised and just a bit too expensive for me to justify it, but maybe in 4-5 years? Who knows, time will tell.

Yeah... would have loved to have swapped to the Enyaq, but just not sure I'm ready to go electric with our main car just yet. Also, really didn't like the teeny tiny dash. Every* other electric car has huge display screens behind the wheel.

*ok, not every other one. But comparable cars.

As for price... the i4 M50 looks like a steal when compared with an Enyaq!

We looked at the Enyaq but like for most just too pricey even for a poverty spec model.

A bit small for me.

Maybe in 3-5 years when they have improved range and make bigger electric cars.

I was less concerned about the teeny-tiny dash. When I first saw it I did think that it was small, but it's only small in comparison to the much larger 13" infotainment screen (well compared to my Kodiaq at least - any Tesla or the Ford Mustang Mach-E both have even larger screens). But then if you compare it to the maxi-dot display in between the dials on a Kodiaq without the Virtual Cockpit, then it's actually larger. I find in my Kodiaq I generally keep the maxi-dot display on speed and rarely if ever look at either the analogue speedo and never look at the rev counter. On that basis the Enyaq isn't so bad. I would also have added the HUD on an Enyaq (not an option of the Kodiaq sadly), so it starts to become a bit of a mute point.

Any more updates? Ordered my Kodiaq Sportline 4x4 in July and heard nothing! It’s not good enough when spending over £40k. They must have some idea of what a plan is and figured out what the recovery for the semi conductor supply chain is?  Tried to buy something else but nothing out there and they know that. 🤬

Having gone through a broker for a mid-August order I'm braced for waiting until next summer for delivery.  No one on the supply side has said that yet.  Broker was previously suggesting probably Feb/March, but that was before the shut down until the end of this year.  March + 10 weeks = ?   Clearly not great for a non-premium luxury car, but what are you going to do?

Unfortunately, price has nothing to do with it at this point.

And no, you won't have any luck buying anything else - new cars are like Dodo droppings right now, hence why used prices are shooting through the stratosphere.

Not quite.

More expensive cars are more likely to be "prioritised" by car manufacturers for two reasons.

1.  They make more money on them

2.  In absolute terms they help cashflow (as irrespective of point 1 above, by definition selling them means more money into the company)

The argument to the counter is that, generally speaking, more expensive cars need more chips (but incrementally not more to offset 1 and 2 above).

In terms of Skoda, I would think that, given the above,  the Kodiaq would be prioritised.

I wouldn't want to be waiting on an Octavia at the moment.

The high cost I am referring to is in relation to receiving regular feedback, it’s all I want and deserve. **** happens but normally large organisations have a contingency plan or road to recovery. My dealer should at least drop me a line, even just to say “sorry, no news”. Not good enough really.
