Kamiq Front USB C ports fell into casing.

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Has anyone any idea if it is possible to fix the front USB ports that have fell into the casing.  I have only had the car a few months and the USB cable just sits there but for some reason the ports have fell into the casing.  I am sure it is an easy fix.  Has anyone any clues on how I get into the casing please?

The car is under warranty but my nearest dealer is 60 miles away and I am struggling to take a day off to get down and I need the ports for work purposes.

I thought if it's any easy fix I could maybe do it myself but don't want to create a more serious problem if it isn't easy.

I've attached a couple of pics to show what I mean.

Thanks for any help,

Andrew

When you get it sorted, use a cable rather than a push in adapter, Amazon .

Use the rear ones with a cable till you get it sorted and dont push plugs in do hard

Thanks all.  I had a cable in the front ports so not sure how they managed to drop in as I don't touch them.  Ah well.  Thanks @ExkiwiI didn't realise there was rear ports!  I am away to have a look.  Thanks.

They're optional. I've not got them in mine.

Mine is an LE  so maybe the poverty packs dont have them. Was just a suggestion to look

You need rear USB socket 3G5 035 954 A and the hosuing 654 863 916

But please don't ask how to plug it, I'm waiting for a good pal who'll do it first

When he does it can you tell me how he gets the console apart as I cant figure it out and want to put the little stop start cable into the switch and cant figure out how to get at it  I looks like the shiny piece which goes right around on the top of it should come off but reluctant to try

At this moment I can only offer you to check this manual and page 10

Yeah I have ALL of them I d/loaded them from ERWIN and it doesnt tell you how to get to the switches in that one or the electrical one as it just shows the switches from underneath af

I have a Monte Carlo and there are no rear usb ports, there are so many "extras" on Skoda models nowadays.

With my Yeti and Fabia Monte, I had pretty much everything fitted.

Rear USB C's on my LE are right down the bottom of the rear of the centre console and you sort of have to look for them from the side

No rear USBs in my SE L either. Mr Exkiwi I think you need to realise that that cars from the same manufacturer are built with different specs depending on which country they are destined for.

You wound up longedge about LA because you didn't realise this. Not all models are created equal.

I have a small rectangular blanking plate, at the base of the centre console ..... No usb sockets!

Havent been on here for a while but I assure you I am well aware of differences between   geographic locations. It seems that all VAG cars vary a lot , due to cost cutting and shortage of electronics.  Even some cars with a weeks difference in our part of the world have some stuff and the other doesnt.   Like  the kick under the rear to open boot.

Recently saw on a forum where a guy in Brazil had his delivered with a Moon roof when he didnt order one and it was an extra on his model.

To answer Skoda 1982 all AUS models have rear USB according to the brochures I have from Nov last year till now so they look after the far side of the world better  than Old Blighty   LOL
