Columbus Ghosts

Featured Replies

This has happened a few times and I’m wondering if it’s unique to me or if anyone else has had this.

sometimes whilst driving along my Columbus (MIB1 I think) random starts bleeping at me like someone is touching the screen in really quick succession and sometimes the screen changes just like someone has pressed a button it.

the screen itself is pretty clean, when I first got the car (2015 RS) early this year I recorded it happening and the dealer updated the software on it to the latest version and it stopped happening as frequently but it does still happen.

is this a thing??

It's not something I have experienced with my MIB1 Columbus (2013)

Did you get it from a main dealer and when did you get the car?

Yeah I got it from a main dealer with full Skoda history in January this year. 😞

I would speak to them again as it might be a faulty screen. That would be a new head unit.

If it's just the screen that's faulty then that's not the head unit (which is in the glovebox).

Yes mine does this mate. Usually happens in winter when it’s cold here in the mornings and stops when the car heats up. It’s done it for years. I find using a small bit of screen cleaner with alcohol helps it.

Term of phrase but you are correct 👍

Thanks, ill give it a try… part of me was wanting someone to say it was knackered so I could justify buying an MIB2 unit… ah well!. 🤷‍♂️
