Try switching the car radio from DAB to FM. Even if you're using bluetooth or android auto, the DAB selection in the background can still cause issues. No idea how that works, but I had crashing software for a year before I fixed it with this change.

A software update made no difference, and Skoda Garage mechanics blamed it on a specific IOS problem, even when I told them I don't have an iphone lol. The DAB fix came from a sales representative who told me lots of customers had my issue, but didn't seem to after separate repairs removed their DAB antennas - a solution found by coincidence. I found that just switching the radio to FM fixed it.

I believe that the restarting is a symptom that can be caused by a fault on several units. In my case it would do it after 30 seconds, after about 5 or 6 reboots it would stay off until I held down the button to reset. I booked it in to a dealer, the earliest appointment I could get was 8 weeks later in spite of being within range of 4 dealers in North London. When the appointment was eventually reached they had the car for 3 days, replaced the USB port and charged me just over £600. It seems to be ok now. The map update I had been unable to do before worked so I guess the USB port had been on the way out for a while

I have a 2021, which I’ve owned for just over 2 years. My car came with 2 free services when I purchased it. During my 2 years of ownership my infotainment occasionally crashed and had various other software glitches.

When my car went in for its last service, last month I mentioned about the problems I was seeing. The chap on the service desk mentioned that rebooting can resolve some issues, which they did whilst the car was in the garage. I was told that any further investigation would need to be arranged at a cost of £100+ per hour.

I must admit my problem has worsened since the last software update, and my infotainment crashes every time I use Google Maps using CarPlay.

The car is fine and I have no other complaints, but the frustration is causing me to consider changing my Octavia for something less troubling.
