Following a recent post there appears to be a demand to see what is most popular, not sure what we will get from this as the most popular may not be the best quality.... but here goes:

1-nothing, it can dry itself

2-a chamois, leather or synthetic

3-aqua blade

4-Microfibre cloth

5-other

I use an aquablade for the big surfaces and then with some old clean teatowels I wipe the rest of the car dry.

Currently use a chamois, but after reading a few recent threads microfibre seems to be the way to go.

I have a couple of microfibre sports towels from Aldi, might give one of them a go.

I've got a water blade and then a large microfibre towel to finish with.

I use an aqua blade wiped clean with old beer mats (clean) Terry towels are also ideal

Use an aquablade for the windows, Meg's Water Magnet MF towel for the bodywork.

Steve

Aqua blade followed by terry towels which are kept for the purpose.

A chamois leather for me, but can someone please explain the advantages / disadvantages of blades and MF cloths

Aquablade for the big bits and windows, microfibre for the smaller bits and any areas missed by the blade. Also then redo the windows with a microfibre

Meguirs plush terry towel

I used to use a synthetic chamois, but I've been using Meguiar's "Water Magnet drying towel" for the last few washes, with great results. I also have a couple of cheapy micro fibre towels from halfords which I use for the windows.

I use an aquablade for the major bits & a chamois to do the rest.

What, scrunched up newspaper? :D

poorboys waffle weave for me, used megs water mag but decided this is better!!

Aqua blade carefully cleaned to remove any grit followed by Meguiars Water Magnet.

I use a waffle weave towel I got from www.polishedbliss.co.uk I could never get on with a chamois and find the towels excellent. I bought two so the job could be done extra quick :D

aquablade then chamois

I use a chamois - not sure its the best way to go, might try one of the water blade things, or maybe a microfibre...

I have been using an aqua blade and then chamois but after reading a few threads on Detailingworld and the original thread before this poll I have today bought a Megs water magnet.

I haven't used it yet so can't pass judgement but from what I have read it seems to be the best, also it will be easy to clean unlike the chamois.

Carlos.

Tesco microfibre cloth for me! Much better than a chammy!! Cheap too ;)!

Stopped using anything now, found that putting the hose on a fine setting allows the car to drip the moisture off itself. Doing this is all beads off, leaving only very few small bits of water, which aren't suffiecent to worry about.

Following various threads, just bought the following -

Poorboy's Trim Restorer

Poorboy's Natty's Paste Wax

Poorboy's Professional Polish

Poorboy's Waffle Weave Towel

used to use an AutoGlym blade but a friend had his leave a nice scratch down his bonnet due to grit under the edge so i now use a Meg's MF towel and find this very good. Also use an AutoGlym synthetic chamois for the door sills and nooks and crannys that will dirty the MF towel.
