Water ingress affecting wiring in driver side footwell?

Featured Replies

The driver’s side footwell of my Fabia got soaked due to a broken window and this led to numerous electrical issues that resolved themselves when I pulled the carpet up and allowed the area to dry out over a couple of days.

It has now happened again due to the window being left open. Can anyone suggest what specifically is likely to have got wet and needs drying out, so that I can speed the drying process up?

I.e. I was wondering if there are any cables or electrical components in the footwell beneath the carpet that will need uncovering and properly drying out?

Thanks in advance!

not really anything under there to get wet, even more so to affect electrics.

It's possible it's just coincidence with the fact the vehicle voltage control unit (under the dash) is suffering water ingress.
