Skoda fabia mk2 shaking when accelerating in second gear and further. Any advice ?

Featured Replies

Hello guys, my gf dad has Fabia mk2 2011 1.2 petrol. It has started to develop an issue while accelerating. I took it for a spin and when I dropped 1st gear and press my foot on gas pedal it accelerated just fine, then 2nd and then it usually starts what it seems like misfiring engine. It shakes and feels like loosing a bit of power. Then the warning on dashboard came on saying that the engine is unstable (VCI if I remember correctly). With esp and epc and engine light on which seems like the engine went to emergency mode as after restarting the car it was acting normal. I tried to connect to my delphi diagnostic tool but realized Im on invalid version. Any idea guys what can be wrong ? So far just sparkplugs have been changed.

Merry christmas to you all.

Kind Regards

Rasty

Whichever cylinder is misfiring needs a new coil pack.

Cables to the spark plugs have been changed for new ones year ago or so. Stupid question do they include coil pack ? Only thing he said that he had "cables to the spark plugs changed".  So not sure lol. Never worked on petrol cars much before so sorry for stupid question.

I don't think they have ignition leads dude.
