Great win for Labour in the South Yorkshire area which covers Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham and Sheffield.

More of a foregone conclusion really...

Oh... It was just a bundle count not so long ago.

Coventry would have to be close when it is normally Labour.

House of Lords beckoning or maybe the Solihull seat as Con MP still tainted and not standing at next GE.

Khan voted back in London 😳 but I suppose that’s democracy for you. He’ll be bigging himself up forever, going on incessantly about how Londoners support him and his (draconian) policies. What he won’t mention is that there was only 40% turnout of which he attracted 43.8% which by reckoning means there’s only 17.52% of the electorate actually wanted him in place. So that’s 82.48% that’ll be hit with whatever he plans next. Having expanded ULEZ there was talk of him introducing so sort of pay per mile scheme next which he strongly denied but apparently has thrown absolute millions at already. Must be spending the ULEZ monies as there’s no evidence of it being used anywhere else.

Angry? Me?

People who don't turn out to vote can hardly complain at a result they dislike.

True, but as already pointed out, the turnout was low and I expect a lot of that was down to the requirement for some sort of photographic ID to confirm who you are, coupled with a lot of apathy from the older generation. I have 3 sons only 1 drives so he has a suitable proof of ID, the other 2 don't drive and have no suitable ID, which of course was part of the plan I expect when BJ brought the plan into being, that loads of people would not bother to get some form of ID. Whereas most of their supporters already have suitable ID's such as passports etc.

I believe it was possible to apply for free voter ID?  Perhaps they should look at that before the GE comes around

If your lads don't have suitable ID that's their own fault and problem to sort out. The acceptable ID has been published widely apparently. Suitable ID can even be applied for or, alternatively, use a postal vote which needs no ID 🤷

Labour win West Midlands Mayoral election.

With Teaseide the only win of note Sunak should go. Get Penny Mordor to take the PM-ship or call a GE if he was honourable, but he is not.

Which has been mandatory in the UK licencing regulations Since 2009?

And we should not forget London Mayoral was a march and not even close despite the 90% negative press.

We know who thought it a cunning stunt to require the ID for voting.   Then the mop head Wally that was in power when it was introduced turned up without ID.  Stunning unct.

'We need to keep the man who got us in this hole'

Also, I'm not sure more digging is a prudent way of getting out of holes.

Rumours that helicopter fan Richy Sunak turned up at Birmingham Airport to join Mr Street at the west midlands final scores announcement but on hearing the result the helo left back for Northolt London at Downing St to lick his multiple wounds.  Expect he will be off to his US residencies after the GE, especially if he loses his Parliamentary seat as well as the overall vote if most pundits are right.

Looks like sanity's prevailed in London. ULEZ and pay per mile nonsense and racist attacks on Khan didn't help Hall at all. Even changing the voting system to favour the tories backfired.

I never understood the argument that voter ID somehow favoured one party or another.

Lack of voter ID certainly favours anyone who wants to rig an election.

Khan was the most popular of a load of unpopular candidates.

Most people eligible to vote, didn't. Of those who did vote, most voters didn't vote for Khan.

But a win's a win, and in the FPTP system, Khan was a decisive winner. 👑

So it's back to business as usual for Londoners, God help them! 😄

Incidentally, I was happy to give Andy Street the Spanish archer by staying at home.

I did think about rocking up and spoiling my ballot, but decided against it.

Probably will spoil my ballot (in the absence of a real conservative option) in the next GE.

Then I'll just have to "Ride the Tiger" during the next Labour administration and hope they screw things up enough for a decent right-wing party to form.

Hopefully people won't fall for Farage's "Campaign then Cuck" election campaign again, but people are desperate, so I dare say many might, especially with the sympathetic press a faux right-winger like Farage will get.

Surely his "Man of the people with a pint" act fools nobody these days?

Make your memes become dreams!

Enough staring into the abyss, time for the Conservatives to lean forward and embrace it.

The Faux conservatives have had their day.

UK politics has shifted so far left, the most "far-right" elected politician in the UK today, is Socialist firebrand, George Galloway. 😄
