Mine was an "F" reg

1987 Nissan Bluebird 1.6 LX hatch. Capable of 0-60 eventually, though much quicker to go from 60 to zero :D

  • 2 months later...

My first was a blue Fiat Mirafiori 1300 four-door saloon; https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fiat_131  I was the final  owner of this Italian workhorse vehicle - the gearbox failed one day and off it went to the great car-park in the sky!

Allegro 1.1. Was gifted to me at 5 years old being a rust bucket which was going to struggle to pass mot.I got it passed with chicken wire, newspaper and filler. Owned it 1 year then it died.

Vauxhall cavalier 1.9 gl ,,vhp 831S ,dont know why i still remember the reg .

White Triumph Dolomite 1500HL... CHM 342V.. I'm a bit of a Saddo with old registration Numbers too.

Maybe just a Saddo full stop 😂.

Not saddo at all! I occasionally check the status of my old plates via the DVLA website >> https://vehicleenquiry.service.gov.uk/ Amazing to see some are still rolling, others not - my old deceased Fiat is below. Try your Triumph plate! 😄

Same here! You can find out what that automotive old friend is up to now via the DVLA website. Just paste in the reg here: https://vehicleenquiry.service.gov.uk/

Vauxhall Chevette 1.3L

My mate had an unreliable one which he referred to as his Vauxhall Shove-it due to frequent breakdowns!

1963 VW Beetle (in 1981)

Golf mk 2

An Austin mini van ( with the metal sides cut to take fixed windows :)  )     a bit like ~

White Renault 6 (3 speed gearbox with the gear lever in the centre of the dash and the gearbox in front of the engine) - only had it 2 months before it ended up upside down in a ditch with me hanging from the seatbelt!

One of my mates did that with his mum's brand new Ford Escort...

Morris marina 1300 mustard yellow !!!

1973 White/rust Vauxhall Viva 1256 bought for £50 in 1982 with only 60k miles on it - but Inner wings had almost vanished even at 9 years old and sills weren't far behind re rust, so I learn't how to weld. Ignoring the rust munching going on I actually ran it for a couple of years passing two more MOTs and it mechanically it was surprisingly reliable doing 12k miles/year - slow as hell though couldn't go up hill especially in a head wind(hated the A66!). Finally gave in when rust advanced much further weakening structure near front and rear suspension attachment points. Rust In Peace!

Bizarrely I still have a bit of a soft spot for a Viva HC whenever I see one, saw an immaculate one the other week in Bridlington.

I had two of these in the 80's as company cars but my goodness did they drink petrol - I rarely got over 30mpg. A later 1.3 89 Astra was way better in many ways.

Blimey suddenly feel old!

Volvo 345 DL ..... 'V' reg. A little 1.4 though these were also available with a 1.7L engine. The full reg is in there (my head) somewhere, but I cannot seem to retrieve it at the moment, Lol.

I can always remember the reg plate of my dad's old Bedford ambulance that he converted into our tiny mobile holiday home. ARA 195L.

Unfortunately it also housed my step mother.

My girlfriend of the time had a maroon one of those.

If it started in the morning, we went to work. We worked at the same place.

If it wouldn't start, then off came the battery to be put on charge, and back to bed for me and her. Those were the days, Lol.
