  • Hello from Latvia! I also bought a Škoda Superb L&K 2.0TSI 4x4 (delivered in May 2024). Everything was fine until October 2024 (I drove around 5000 km at that point). I got 7 warnings related to

  • My wife's Superb was updated a week ago on 2nd December and there have been no problems since. She drove 320 miles at the weekend and all was well.   She's finally starting to enjoy the car

  • I got my car back yesterday,  33 miles on, no problems.  I know that is not far, but went wrong after 10 miles when I got it . So, let's hope,  fingers crossed!

My Adas was also fixed, but each time my son changes the temp on his side, the whole screen goes black for 3 seconds 🥲Did your got resolved? I am stuck on the old sw version for the infotainment system. It only happens with carplay though

Only use carplay occasionally but no problem with it. No problems with temp settings left or right.

I read back and you say your car is newer, so it was never impacted by this issue, so I am not sure how we ended up in this continuation, but I anyway appreciate you trying to help me. So in case anyone have any news about the infotainment system update from the old version with the carplay bug, I am all ears :)

Hi HK, I ordered my PHEV estate 30/08/24 and collected it 16/12/24 so it had the big Sept 2024 update. In June 2025 I had the ACC fail together with other ADAS issues. Software update in July and ACC stalk replaced. If yours was before Sept 2024 we ate on different issues. Regards John625

My Superb has started a new annoyance this week. Every time I get in the car it asks me if I want it to continue guidance to an address unknown to me about 8 miles away from my home address. I’ve never entered that address, last time I entered any destination in the Sat nav is over 5 months ago for an address 200+ miles away.

The infotainment system is also deciding what music I can listen to. It will play just a few tracks from the album I select then it decides to start playing a completely different album, again for just a few tracks then another different album and so on…

I have never encountered such appalling software before. It’s particularly irksome as I’m a retired software engineer with 35+ years experience. I would have offered my resignation if such basic faults were found in my software.

I don’t think I’ll be driving a Skoda for much longer…

I have the same issue with the black screen. There have been several new versions released for the infotainment system.

You should go to the dealer and tell them about the problem, they’ll check if they can install the latest version for your car.

The thing is, some people have received newer updates, while others haven’t.

Next month, when I go for the oil change, I’ll ask about it as well.

edit: Sorry somehow my post got broken…

So I have a slot on the 19th for other issues with charging flap and the massage seats, so I will ask around about the update. But so far I never heard from anyone that an update was released for our version :(

And another issue connected I believe is the mobile parking feature that we miss due to the early production

I had my update done back in June and although most of the problems were cured I still have a few.

Tailgate continually closing while you are loading.

Drivers side rear door glass will not close properly, likes to be about 1/3 down and takes a lot of jiggling with the switch to get it to shut.

Infotainment turns itself on if you open the rear doors or tailgate.

Warning lights for sensors light up on cold damp and frosty mornings, will go off after a while.

Due for first service in a couple of months so will ask them to investigate then.

Hi Phil,

We have a two similar issues:

  • The warning light for the sensors on cold/damp mornings is usually a legitimate issue, I have found: the part of the windscreen in front of the sensor (at the position of the rearview mirrror) can get covered by frost/snow/dew, blocking the camera in the 'sensor box' behind. Cleaning the windscreen generally seems to help

  • The tailgate lid closing when loading: I have the same issue and in my case it seems to be that the 'foot sensor' that allows you to open/close the tailgate by moving your foot under the rear bumper is too sensitive and already activates the tailgate when you just get close to the bumper. Annoying, as I have got the tailgate closing on my head a few times! I have yet to try cleaning that sensor to see if things improve.

Hope it helps,
Daniel

Yes mine is exactly the same, yet sometimes it will neither open or close with the foot sensor but at the same time still closes on your head while loading.

Yeah. On the whole I actually love the car, but it does have some annyoing quirks like this!

I've disabled the foot sensor on my tailgate for exactly that reason - far too sensitive when getting close to the rear of the car while leaning into the cargo space.

Assist errors on foggy/dewy/damp mornings and evenings - yup, getting those too. My guess is that the moisture on the screen (inside or outside - not sure) is obstructing the camera, and the errors clear after a couple of minutes.

Latest... car went to local dealer for diagnostics this morning. Outcome - onboard logs show multiple instances of various modules throughout the vehicle losing comms. Needs to go in for 2-3 days of software updates to take it from software baseline PV2 to PV4 (basically the equivalent of the 90EE service campaign, but the dealership seemed very reluctant to refer to it as such when I asked!). Booked in for the middle of next month - after which I guess I have to wait and see which problems are resolved, and which ones persist.

soooo, sw update done. What I already see:

  • carplay black screen seems to be solved

  • mobile reminder switch solved

  • mobile parking didn’t arrive unfortunately

if something else interesting comes up I will share that too

  • 4 weeks later...

Software update now applied to car according to 90EE service campaign (taking all modules to PV4 baseline). All the errors which have been persistently appearing on start-up for the last two months have now cleared. Some other things I've noticed immediately are as 'hrk7' says - black screen on Carplay when adjusting climate, volume, etc. is resolved. I now get a "don't forget your mobile phone" reminder when leaving the car, which I've never had before (and I might now turn off!!). Small changes to instrument cluster display (lane assist and ACC icons have moved, speed limit roundel is clearer). Time will tell whether I now finally have a car with fit-for-purpose software...!

Can't edit this into my last post for some reason, so posting again just to add... another minor annoyance which has now been resolved is having to re-select climate control sync after every use of the 'max windscreen defrost' function - it correctly re-establishes sync now when the window-clearing function is switched off.

I received my phev superb mk4 two weeks ago and comes with 2565 software. I have 2 skoda campaigns messages, already scheduled service for the 29th.

Will the software update fix the MyŠkoda app not updating the car status and not being able to add my wife as a second user? What version are you guys at?

Cheers

I never tried a 2nd user, I just saved her seat position, so cannot comment on that part. For the software reaching the car, I only had temporary issues or longer waiting times. Or the shortcut to climate in Apple homekit exosystem get messed up and need to open the app again. These stayed, but in general their app works after a few long seconds of waiting time

I bought my Superb in November 2025 and they advised I needed a "software update" that would take 2 days. Three weeks later they still have the car and no idea when it will be ready. I see this is quite a common issue. I'm rapidly going off Skoda.

My (December 2024) superb went in for the 2 day November update and it was kept 5 days as the software was difficult to install and needed several resets, but 3 weeks is unreasonable. With the update lots of minor niggles were solved

Mine was there 5 days (including the weekend) but everything is working properly, now. You have to escalate that issue to skoda center in your country, in my humble opinion

I guess I got lucky - mine was only in for two days, all went well with no issues. There seem to be quite a few instances of this update taking a lot longer than anticipated due to unforeseen problems, though.

Yeah, their explanation (and they warned me beforehand) is that Skoda (the hole WW group, actually) was going through some issues with their servers because of Cupra integration, or something. Might just be an excuse, of course.

Hi everyone,

I went to the dealer for an oil change, and while I was there, I also reported a few issues (bugs) related to the infotainment system: a black screen in certain situations, the camera sometimes not activating, and aggressive braking during parking maneuvers. Other than that, I haven’t had any major problems.

My car was manufactured in 08/2024 and currently has software version 2460. After some discussions, they agreed to update it to the latest compatible version, which I believe is 2630.

I would like to hear from those of you who updated from 2460 to 2630, did you experience any issues, or is everything working fine after the update?

Thx!
