@JamesK I highly appreciate your response. I will try to find 1896 somewhere, since I don't think it's a good idea to go directly to 1941. If anybody has this software version, I would be really happy. If not I think I have to go to my Skoda dealer. I notice several bucks, like missing back camera picture, random warnings, slow boot of the shop and other online services etc.

1941 look I shared a g drive link you can try to update the firmware, itself would break if it couldn't update

It might also be worth getting quotes from any Skoda/VAG independent businesses such as @East_Yorkshire_Retrofits . They can update the software for you, and probably be far more clear with you about exactly what modules need to be updated. Instead of the usual loop you go through with Skoda Dealers.... of having the car in so they can send a report to Skoda Technical. Wait for Skoda Technical. Skoda Technical then tell the dealer what updates to install. This whole process can take several days. If the issue isn't resolved, the whole process is repeated.

Hi,

my 1.0 TSI First Edition from November 2020 is on Software-Version 1810 with H56 Hardware. Can i update to 1941 and then to 1985 or do i have to visit a dealer first as @TheWanderer stated in the 1969 Thread for Updates from Version 1803? Car got the last update to 1810 from the dealer with action 97C1 in 2022, didnt get any OTA-Updates since then.

You only get OTA updates from version 1941.

There's many of us with early cars that are still not getting OTA updates even after installing 1941/1969. Here's a thread on it:

Yeah according to https://www.skoda-auto.com/apps/availability#/service/29 my car is not receiving OTA Systemupdates anytime because the production date is 08/2020 (delivery in late 11/2020) and OTA Updates are only for cars

From production 2/2020 to 7/2020
From production 11/2020

... simply not clever (sob).

That leaves me with the question if its save to update to 1941 and then 1985 from 1810 via USB.

I just did the update from 1803 to 1941 with an usb stick using the provided link to 1941 as sent in a couple messages back: took like 35 mins but went smooth 😄 No OTA's for me as well.

Actually... while being updated to 1941 i just got a notification about an OTA update; looks like im getting updates now, which did not happen on 1803.

1810 to 1941 went smooth :). Will update to 1985 next.

Update to 1985 with engine running was successful. No Problems. Thanks for the guide and files.

  • 2 weeks later...

I wonder when the next update will come out. It's been many months since 1985 was released.

I believe for pre-facelift Mk4 models there will be no more updates after 1985.

Cupra rolling out 1988 OTA

Seat/Cupra 1988 = Skoda 1985

The official further development of mib 3 is EOL. Only serious bugs after complaints will be reviewed.

Was it 1985 that introduced a CarPlay bug with audio track information not updating in Virtual Cockpit? You would hope that a further update would be released to address that issue.

You could turn of the car with CarPlay on display in the Infotainment, so the infotainment starts directly into CarPlay on startup. This workaround works for me

I updated my infotainment from 1941 to 1985 without any problem. Everything went well.

On Dutch forum I’ve read that 1989 will be available this week. OTA will come later

Update mine from 1806 to 1941 no problems, don't know if I should update to 1985, heard people got problems with AA
