Phil, I would probably murder you in a race with my car around corners. I had a 350Z last year for 2 hours and had all the time to test it around bends, and it doesn't do that well

Mil, you think a 2.0 shopping trolley with boy-racer springs and silly aftermarket tyres is faster than a real sports car offering 276 bhp, 155 mph, 5.7 sec 0-60? You are mistaken, my Grandma would beat you in that - and she's been dead 12 months.

Incidentally I'm sure Phil's 245/40WR18's offer slightly more contact with the ground than yours (unless you've managed to get 250s on :confused: ) as well as having a chassis that is actually good.

I own a Fabia and for what it is it's a very good car, but in comparison to a 350Z it's a toy. With a poor chassis. That no wonder tyres will ever overcome.

Not with my very modified Viper it's not:D

Engine is front mounted, and glued down. Driveshaft bearings glued in to stop the drive shaft being spat off, axle bearings glued in, different pinion and crown gears and super sticky rubber wiped over with WD40 before racing.

Serious fun.

But then if it was real-life, it obviously wouldn't beat a 2.0 Fabia

i know you have minor power mods to your car but my brother is running a 4 branch manifold/decat/catback system/eibach springs and has a world renowned chassis yet cannot keep up with my car for love nor money.

your car may feel fast to you mil and i'm sure it goes round corners quite well but i strongly suggest you visit a track and go up against like minded people in the proper place to see how you and your car really stand up against others

I have read all this with great amusement... my only comment is if a slightly tweeked 2.0 115-135bhp Fabia can perform like this what the hell is a standard 180-200 bhp Audi, Octavia VRS, Saab 93 Areo or something of a similar type capable of :eek:

In fact what's the point of spending big bucks on a super car for performance alone when a slightly tweeked, or standard, mass produced car, with a decent amount of bhp, can out gun them

They aren't bad cars, they are reasonable powerful and handle okay for a small family car. But there is no way a Mustang is going to loose again a Fabia. Even though people say Mustangs don't handle, they handle better than Fabia's, I can confirm that.

I think when motoring journos say "Mustangs dont handle" they are comparing it to a similarly priced European car - Probably something from BMW or Porsche.

People then latch on to what the journalists say and claim the car is utter rubbish.

No, your wrong.. When people say Mustangs dont handle they actually mean they handle like ****, I've been in all the Generations of the Mustangs that are above 94.. 3 Generations.. and not only been in them for like 1 or 2 hours.. No i mean for a really long time coz many people own Mustangs here in this country and im telling you this, Mustangs have the worst handling ever and they oversteer more than anything else.. probably the best one of them is the 2005 model it handles better than the previous ones but still for a car from this class it would be easily beaten by a 350Z or even a FWD coupe...

So what you're saying is a Mustang is a challenging car to drive

the mustang us a nice car to drive i'll admit it, but come on in real life oversteer is really bad coz sometimes bcoz of some road conditions u might not be able to control that, , and to mention it here, i've raced my frnds 97 V6 Mustang with my 1.4 16v fabia n he was only able to overtake me after 120 Km/h, and the mustang has a V6 3.8l engine... Sry but the handling of the mustangs is very bad

Leon should have no problem selling his 2.0 Elegance after this thread We expect to see "Mustang Slayer" in the advert

First off, I never said the MCS was faster than any of the two cars above. Second, I've never driven the Z4. Third, I saved the best for last 'then'. The 350Z. I din't list them in order of performance.

Also, I'ma tell you straight up, get the **** over it. I took that Mustang like a king. I already said, he gained on me quick on the straight. But those corners are mine.

And the fastest car I've driven is the Porsche Cayman S.
