ORU3 - OCU - SW0311 – Octavia (O3A8)

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,

It seems that a rolling OTA update is on-going for SOS module which accordingly to the below information started a few days ago.
Has anybody received it?

Any kind of information will be highly appreciated.

You can easily look up by typing your vehicle VIN number on: https://www.dieteren.be/en/recall

Cheers.

I have just entered my VIN and I get the same response. Also for awhile now (possibly since before the 16th) I keep getting the 'update' prompt on the infotainment - and I keep telling it to update, and a few days later it comes back and prompts me again.

Does this require a dealer visit?

I just got my notification about this ocu update today, but i will wait for a while and see if there are any problems with it.

Just installed O3A8 on my Octavia iV 21. Went smooth but the car did reset itself to factory settings afterwards. Logged on with main user and everything seems to be working as usual. Didn’t have any problems before.

But I would like the car to prompt the O3A7 update (infotainment 1989) OTA but Skoda says my current version (1941) is the ”latest available” for my car. Anyone know how to manage to get this update, or maybe not necessary?

Installed the damn update. Wiped all accounts and settings. Thanks, Skoda! :/

I did it on my car also, but almost everything came back when I logged back in as main driver 🤔

Last evening, OTA 03A8 has been sucesfully installed on my car, too.

Despite, you need to login with your Skoda account, insert S-PIN, save your favorites radios station again, everything went back to normal operation.

I've also quickly checked with OBD11 dongle and the Telematics module has been uptated to v0311.

@djmartzian What software version of the telematics module (OCU) were you running before you did the update to v0311?

Hello @SiWaiting ,

From top of my head, version 144 was before this OTA kicked in.

Cheers

I guess my module is to old. No update according to VIN check.

I’m stuck on version 0067. Hardware H12. 5WA035284A.

Octavia late 2020.

Was told a few months ago that the latest version then was 0144. Assuming that that information was correct, then it would be interesting to know what caused the big leap in version number from 0144 to 0311.

My car got the prompt this a.m. The intro explained that a re-login was required, along with other useful info. It looks like taking 5 hours to download so I'll check back on it this evening.

I was wrong there - it only downloads whilst the ignition is on. Mine stopped downloading when I left the car. So I had to sit in the car for 20 minutes this morning whilst it completed the download.

It all went OK, once I had logged in my favourites were still there.

However, I would recommend switching on the 'eye' when entering your password - the touch keyboard is so clunky its impossible to not make at least one mistake.

Ah, so that's why I was asked to log into Skoda Connect again this morning, I hadn't been driving the car a while so thought my wife had done something.

When I logged in as main driver it brought back some settings but not my radio favourites and the likes and I was prompted to go through the rescan setup again.

Quick update, second time starting the car was asked for the S-PIN and my favourites were back, but my screen layouts, screen background and ambient lighting were all reset to default.

I've had that too, I've had my stored radio stations wiped, the clock has changed from the analogue one to digital one again, S-PIN entry twice (now stopped).

I’m on 1941. Installed that version via USB with the intent to install the latest on top of that, but have stayed with 1941 since it actually works perfectly fine. For SW as old as 18xx I’ve heard the best/safest way is to go for 1941 for first step anyway. I would go for that if I were you and evaluate after that. And if someone have any info on differences for 1989 vs 1941 I would appreciate this. Maybe I should go for latest, but a bit worried to fix something that aint broken.

I updated my infotainment software straight from 1896 to 1985, not sure if you can go straight to 1989 but as going to 1985 wasn't an issue my guess would be it'd be fine.

Tutorial and link for 1989 is on the main page of this (mk4) forum

Question for those who’ve had the OCU of their 2020/21 cars updated to 0144 &/or 0311.

Did that update enable

  1. A route planned in the Škoda App to be sent to the in-car SatNav?

  2. The remote lock and unlock?

My late 2020 can do neither, nor get OTA updates. Currently working fine on 1941.

Thanks.
