Kruise control by Big K

Featured Replies

We've had quite a few newbies of late and some might not be aware that we (Briskoda) have put together a cruise control package for Octy owners.

Supplied and fitted by our very own K.

Cost is

I don't know if this is relevant but for us lowly members who still need to unlock their cars with the key, he also does a very tidy remote central locking package. :D Mine's still working anyway. :pimp:

Here are a couple of pictures I too while K was fitting Cruise Control to my car.

I can confirm that it's an excellent mod, and would recommend it to anyone :)

A nice set of pictures, Mike, which graphically show why the mod isn't really a DIY one.

yep i'm back in 2004 fresh and ready to take up your mod challenges so if you have a mod you want doing try me i will do my best to oblige. :)

I found a thread that said the part number for the "kit" is 1JO 998527.

What are the separate VAG part number numbers , ie one for the control stalk , the loom connection etc?

I'm looking into this mod too. I've previously had info from Denis about K fitting it but unfortunately the 'owner' of my car wants to do it himself. He's done plenty on VWs and Audis but never on a Skoda so he's still at the 'research' stage. I sent him the link in the FAQ's.

Funnily enough, when I enquired at Bickertons and Gordon Lambs neither offered cruise as a retro fit and also were not entirely sure that a Skoda kit was available. David is using VW parts.

IIRC retro fitting cruise to a Fabia is a no-no! Pity cause it's something I would like.

If anyone wants to see the VW 'How-to' for the Cruise Control Retrofit, please have a quick look over on my website........you may even see some other tasty items that take your fancy !

Welcome to Briskoda, Foxy! That's an impressive website of yours - I've visited it many times in the past for reference and to see what you have been up to. :D

My local dealer agreed to retrofit for me about 2 months ago, based on the VW instructions posted previously, using genuine Skoda parts, but apparently one of the bits I need is on back-order ? :(

Whereabouts is Big K based, if it's not too far (from Scotland !) I'll probably go for it ! :)

Without being too descriptive I believe K is based in the Midlands area.

I know Awesome GTI (near Manchester) were happy to do it (for 200 quid ish). But had to cancel at the last minute due to work commitments :cussing: . Should be getting it done in the next few months though. Will let you know how it goes.

sorry for what might be an obvious question, but does this guy still fit the cruise control? does he fit them to Fabia vRS'?

The answer to your question is yes he does, and yes he can.

Send him a pm and I am sure he will help.

No need to apologise. I believe the answers are Yes and Yes :D Best to PM him for details I think !

D'oh - Manny's reply wasn't there when I typed mine

As Manny says, yes. I let K loose on my Fabia and it works very well. It costs about

Not much to see really.

Once the car is all back together it looks like a factory-fit cruise stalk ;)
