Gimme a chance, I only ordered it today

:haha:

Promise I'll write a review 1 week after I've received it - with my mileage I should have a fair idea after 1200-2000 miles if it is any good. Oh and if it is shïte I'll still post a review. Can't say fairer than that :D

I cant ask for more oh mighty mod

OK, initial review after a quick blast out tonight (may post again after a few more miles use).

It was delivered next day after ordering, unfortunately missing the back plate. No drama, gave them a ring (have to be creative with the phone no. you use), they apologised profusely and sent me one in the post a few days later. Installation was a breeze but I'd definately recommend watching the video on the web, it makes much more sense than the still pictures. It was ready to go in a couple of minutes. Does it work - yep, it certainly does. I wouldn't say it was uncomfortable but to start with it was slightly odd feeling. You very soon get used to it though, then, very soon after that it feels very odd not having it pulled nice and snug. You move around less, allowing you better feel and control. I turned into one corner way to aggressively, presumably previously that level of input was required cos i'd be off balance on my seat.

In summary: It does exactly what it says it does, its not much money, what have you got to loose by trying it really?

Mine arrived this morning. Will pop out and fit it in a mo... :)

Oh, and btw, it was my first opportunity to test my new 312mm brake setup. Anyone with a 4x4 thinking how much difference can an extra inch possibly make, well, a whole lot, an awesome upgrade for the money. Cheers GolfTurbo.

Whens this GB going to happen ? I wouldn't mind having a look at octav.ed's one first if thats okay.

Its almost 3 hours later I think Tom might have been enjoying himself too much and found the hedge...... I hope not

All is well.

First opinions are pretty good.

It was a doddle to fit, took under 5 mins, absolutely easy peasy.

However, seems to be taking a little bit of time to get used to the slider mech. It seems really stiff, and my seatbelt got trapped in it twice too. I'm sure its just a case of getting the hang of it - the instructions do say it will feel stiff at first and will loosen up, so not too worried. The only other negative is that using it means giving your seatbelt a good tug. Not really a problem - but my seatbelts are "platinum" in colour - I give it a matter of days before they are grubby.

Onto the positives, I instantly felt very comfortable, and relaxed. I tilted the backrest of the seat forward a touch - it just felt like I needed to be an inch or so closer to the wheel.

The joy of it is, after about 30seconds, even with it really quite tight, you forget you are wearing it - until you hurl yourself into the corner and wonder why you aren't sliding about everywhere. The Corsa seats aren't all that supportive for fat blokes like me, so this CG Lock has transformed my driving experience. No more bracing yourself or shifting your weight about to keep balance. It really is great, and allows you to keep complete precision and control with steering.

Once I get used to the slider mech I'll be over the moon. A brilliant way to spend £35 imho.

Thanks for arranging the GB Andy, and a big  to CG Lock for the great price. I think these are worth around the £50 region, so for £35 just get one.

I'm thinking of ordering a second one for passengers too... :)

After seeing all of these positive comments I couldn't resist - I bought two from a guy on Ebay US as he was doing postage to NZ for a damn good price.

I'll post a review when they get here!

fitted mine at tea time after looking at video. fock he made it look easy.he took under a minute. took me 10mins as i used longer screws 1st. :( brisk trip up the country roads and back. still in same seating position after 20mins. :D no movin about in seat whizzing safely around the corners. cheap efective little mod. does what it says on the tin.

On the Octavia, you should use the longer screws.

Remember guys and gals the screws should NOT stick out on the back of the clamp plate. If they do use the short ones.....

Tom, A few tips. Firstly when pulling it tight ensure that the lap belt is not twisted and lying reasonable flat and secondary when pulling on the belt pull in the same direction as the cg lock is lying. Also leave the slider in the on position permenantly!

Andy - are you on commission or something? It seems a little unorthodox to insist people post a review of a product purchased through a Briskoda group buy.

Firstly I'm not on comission, I just think its a great product that deserves a fair chance. If I have offended anyone by asking them (seemingly insisting) to post a review / their comments then I apologise, but the real power of a forum is pass on this type of infomation ,good or bad, for the benefit of all.

I think its really easy to write this type of product very quickly as a gadget, its not till you try it do you realise how good it is.

I dont think you've offended anyone but it seemed to me like a sneaky way for CG Lock to advertise their product for free. The whole thing is a bit "price drop TV", if you kno wwhat I mean ;)

Great products will sell themselves, people will willingly write reviews and rave about them without having to be prompted.

I shant be buying one because I'm not sure I can be bothered faffing with it each time I get in the car.

Use short screws if fitting to a 1997 vintage Felicia.

I needed the short screws for my Corsa - but to be fair, my seat belt clip housing is so thin I assumed these are what I'd need.

Cheers Andy - I realised I need to pull it square with the lock... moving my seat slightly more upright has made this easier.

With regards to leaving it on - I dont know how tight you have yours, or indeed how porky you are, but I cannot clip it in if I leave it in the on position.

Im pretty porky! (No comments allowed from thos who know me  ) What I do is leave the slider in the one and position and just push down the lever at the side, as I pull the belt across and clip it in. That way the lap belt slackens off. Then I just let go of the lever and pull the belt tight.

It takes very little time to pust on when installed - 2 secs maybe..

Ah, gotcha! Will give that ago. Sounds much more sensible. :)

no m8. had the long 1s in 1st they would rip an tear belt after a while.

Sorry, assumed you had the Octy vRS, and that has a thick buckle on the belt , I tried with the short ones at first and on the vRS they are way tooooooooooooooooooooo short.

Just fitted mine today.

It's really a good bit of kit - feels like I have better control, no sliding around in the seat.

most importantly - feels like I have installed a proper (and very comfy) bucket seat.

yes, the seat itself feels more comfy.

IMHO - Deffo worth it.

Thanks Andy!!

Cheers

Bas
