Autowindow Remote Window Closure Fabia

Featured Replies

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think the change is to the ECU as such, but to the convenience module. Can this normally be accessed with VAG-Com?

if it over-writes something and cannot be un-done then i'll prob. give it a miss.. don't want to invalidate warranty

unless someone knows of something else?

the autowindow is hardware not software so doesnt write anything to the car and can be reomoved if required.

think people are getting confused as this is a thread about the autowindow module and some people have mentioned the kvw100 which is completley different.

Where did you source this unit, how much and will it allow you to roll the windows up and down stopping on command?

Do you have a link to the product?

I would be if I had electrics all round.....but I don't :(

It won't open the sunroof, which is the one thing I would want it to do.

AutoWindow - remote window controller the guy who runs this is called scott and hes a really helpful bloke, would def recomend.

mine is the first fabia to have this fitted. for a first-time install where i had to find the wires to do the correct jobs and test them fully before connecting it only took me about 2 hours to do.

yes it makes them close, open and stop all controlled from the remote.

dont think ill have much use for it yet but come summer i can see it being really usful.

i think the classic autowindow module is compatable with sunroofs.

ill email scott and ask if your interested bryand?

cheers john

Like the Alientec, it will close the sunroof but it won't open it. A shame because on a boiling hot day, that's exactly what you want to do to cool the car down quickly.

I would love to disable the lock-based 'window open' feature as it's very easy to get into a car with that feature by messing with the lock ;)

Auto-close seems handy to me though :D

cheers for instructions, considering it requires removing the door-card (done this with old car and it was never the same when put back) and re-wiring i think i'll give it a miss....unless someone in soton/bournemouth area knows what they're doing??

i thought about this also, surley it would just be a case of sniping through the brown/yellow control wire that goes to the door lock and insulating the wires. might give it a try and keep you posted:thumbup:

Hmm, now to decide which one to buy ;)

Do I go 'Basic' or 'Cool+ Rain Sense' .... Hmm options ...

i would go for basic if your not technically minded as its a piece of p!55 to fit, if you consider yourself a techno wiz i would then consider the one with the rain sensors and temp sensors.

Am seriously technically minded :)

Went for the basic though as I'm not keen on the windows venting when I'm not around :(

So, ...... my Skoda Fabia has the conveniance unit number 6Q0 959 433 C.

Would I be correct in thinking that the KVW100 will not be able to reflash my convenience unit and will only work for units ending in either E/F/H ?

Just out of curiousity vwaudilover, were you also known as "coolgolf" on the Golf MkIV forum during the KVW100 group buy on there by any chance ? :)

Where can I find out what conveniance unit number I have?

Where can I find out what conveniance unit number I have?

VAG-COM can tell you or you could look on the unit itself.
