My Fabia VRS 1/4 Mile

Featured Replies

My old car! :)

Good to see all is well with her, piccies are on the way neil if you just let me know what's best for you.

And yes for the LAST time the car IS remapped :) It has a JabbaSport custom remap on it, 195 bhp and 323 lb/ft of torque, that was detuned to 191.5 bhp and 301 lb/ft to save the clutch.

The pictures i'll send you include 2 RR Printouts. I had it remapped when the car had 5,000 miles on and it already had the following on it:

PD160 Cupra Intake

Green Filter

It subsequently had the SMIC pikey mod 1 and 2.

Hope this helps and confirms to you ONCE AND FOR ALL it is REMAPPED ALREADY!!!

:D

Chris.

No way 195bhp from a remapp on a 130bhp, more like 170 ish bhp

I was driving down the east lancs (dual carriageway) the other night & a Starlet Turbo (1.3 i think, not sure about bhp) decided to have a play with the furby:D I was expecting it to be a challange but i smoked it various times, from the lights and mid range was a massive difference;) The young lads mates in the starlet were laughing alot cause he was being dusted by a skoda:P

Mine has been remapped tho 178bhp

You couldn't have been that far ahead, if you could see his mates laughing at him especially at night!

That's exactly how I feel about your car. More like 200hp. :)

I kept slowing down so he could catch me up:P and there are quite a few sets of lights every 2 mile or so!

Going from 0 to 110 i pulled at least 60 yards on him, is that far enough;)

Well if that is all it has i'm very happy with that being a diesel and all ;)

Haha, Cheers Chris!

Yes I believe you! as its now matched a Focus RS, narrowly got between by an E36 M3, Is as quick as an S1 Elise, Faster than a Mini Cooper S and its only slighty slower than a chipped Leon Cupra R.

I defo believe you!!! She flys. Im going to get an exhaust system on her and she what she's now kicking out on the rollers (done 60k now)

I was just surprised that I couldn't get close to your 14.7 1/4 that I have seen you quote somewhere.

PM sent about pics :)

Oh for **** sake. WAKE UP!

Every car you mentioned above, in standard form, would wipe the floor with your car! Dreamer!

I raced a Cooper S the other day and we where even.

"I raced a Mustang and kicked his a.s.s!"

Come on guys! Grow up!:mad::o

These posts dont do the forum any good :o

You would be, having a remap to your car. I'm not denying the fact that you couldn't stay with a standard cooper s, but once the speeds are over 100, the cooper s will pull away.

But as far as an M3 go, a remapped Leon Cupra R, a Focus RS bla bla, it's just a dreamworld to compare to them.

on the starlet turbo vane i had a 20minute battle with one at trax this year,i have a lot of newfound respect for these little rockets it was flying,i did finnish the sesion in front tho:thumbup:

Snoopie, don't argue with the dreamers,we all know what the little furby's are capable of;) and when these threads stoop to these levels it just makes us all look a bit silly.

I don't know who you are but your officially an Idiot!!!

I know what my car can do and has done!

I raced the Cooper S (a mates) at the pod last weekend and beat it everytime with ease.... Also on the way there I was quicker from a rolling start and my top speed was higher

Cooper S in question in background

Corsasport1402.jpg

The elise in the picture is another mates, its a modified S1 (just exhaust, induction and larger throttle body mods)

On the move my car is identical through the gears but over 100 I start to pull away from the little lotus. On the 1/4 mile however the lotus was a second quicker (just over a car length) due obviously to its far suprior launching and gear ratios for the 1/4

The Leon Cupra R is owned by my another mate and features Revo Stage 2, exhaust, BMC filter and 4 bar fuel pressure reg (power estimated at 260-270) but hasn't been rolling roaded yet to confirm

Pictures of said Leon

This car is pulls away from mine but not a quick rate. From 50-130 I would guess at 3 car lengths (and the reason we've tested these cars against each other is because we all drove to the Nurburgring together in convoy earlier this year)

Next the M3 (did not know owner) this was just a car that I lined up against at the Pod last weekend. It beat me by 1 car length (just less than a second) but admitively was pulling away top end (100mph) slowly as we crossed the line.

The Focus RS was on the way to work early monday morning (again didn't know driver) but from 70-120 we were identical side by side. (I don't have proof of this one but it happened!!! plus i've been in a Focus RS and there not praticually quick away (low 15 sec car in standard trim on 1/4 mile).

And finally Tuesday night this week I had a straightline rolling start drag against another mates Modified VR6 Golf (200bhp RR proven)

This I pulled away from slowly which the owner wasn't too happy about

Im sorry for the long reply but it really winds me up when people talk b0llox! I don't lie about what my cars achieve (whats the point?) so felt I needed to prove you wrong because you were talking cr@p.

Oh and on the way to the RING this year, the speedo on the little fabia reached dead on 150 (admitley down an autobahn hill) but it got there. Next you'll be telling me this is impossible as well and I was just dreaming. lol

Neil

Nice well-detailed answer there mate - interesting read. Good to see some solid facts. very nice pics too.

you made your point(s) :D

personaly i think this thread should call it quits, this bickering does nothing to enhance the reputation of this community and all threads on this subject are banned by the mods, the fastest fabia in the country got beat by a standard golf gti, fact in performance tuner mag issue no 3 so can we have an end to the personal insults and the my mapped fabia beat this that,it is very poinless and counter productive:thumbdwn:

Thats fair enough mate, just don't like being called a lier / dreamer etc When I have proof of what I was claiming.

Some people may have actually found this thread entertaining lol

Yup, been a good read

that is as maybe,i find these threads immensly entertaining but you may find yourself being warned by a mod,and congratulations your vrs is faster than jabba lukes cos his wouldn't beat some of the above, well not on its magasine form anyway, and he has 249bhp and over 400 ft lb of torque to boot,so after this maybe you can see why some are a bit sceptical to say the least:D

and before you point it out i know i can't spell;)

Yep. Novaneil has the fastest Fabia on this forum. Beating M3's, and practically anthing else you race. You are a dreamer, and I'll continue to say it. Pratt.

Oh? Where's this proof? The fact you've took pictures mean sod all to me ...

Come on mate chill.......

I loved my Fabia vRS, it was really quick when it wanted to be. I thought it looked good, and it was capable of matching ST150's etc, all day long.

Mine was quite well modified, remapped, suspension, Forge FMIC, Blueflame turbo back exhaust, filter, intake, etc etc and all the rest before a turbo upgrade.

I traded it in for my Leon Cupra R, which was modified to 235+ HP. No way, would any Fabia on this forum have kept up with that in a straight line, between 30+140 + ...

Again, I love the car... but the newer generation of people on this forum, are coming out with some radical bloody claims, it's a great big thumbs down from me!

Fine, your entitled to your opinion. Im not going to carry on argueing with you as theres no point. All I will say is...

Yes im new to this Forum, but am well known and respected on other forums due to the cars I have built over the years and what I have achieved with them.

I have brought my fabia as a daily drive whilst my lastest project car is being built. So far my impressions of this forum and my car have been good, but I have noticed the odd few people that stick out (like on any forum) for the wrong reasons. (such as yourself Snoopie).

These people usually once upon a time owned a car related to the forum and because of that they think they are the be all and end all with everything to do with that car. And take any opportunity to critise others (and the car) whenever possible.

I could go as far as posting video's of some of the cars's i've mentioned above that I've had little races with on the way to Germany and up the Pod just to prove you wrong. But I really can't be bothered to stoop to that level just to prove a point with someone who's calling me a dreamer, pratt etc who I don't even know. Im not pretending or claiming my fabia's is the quickest or anywhere near for that matter. Im just stating facts of what mine has achieved... that is all.

Neil

look bud i own one and it is in the process of being modded, the proof is the best vrs in the country can't do what you say your mapped one can, this test was done in a national mag on expensive timing gear so my point is you are either lying , your mates let you win or they can't drive as well as you,i don't dispute the fabia vrs is a good car,i love mine and have had three of them,i even got rid of a mk 2 octy to go back to a fabia, imho it is the best value performance car there is,having owned skylines and other fast cars[i currently have a 320bhp impretza]i can see the fabia vrs for what it is,a warm hatch and nothing more, for the performance levels you claim to have achieved a hell of a lot more work would need to have been done,or the other drivers were quite poor,i came across a few of these at trax, but i don't go around saying my vrs is faster than a skyline, evo or any of the other things i passed,i am glad you enjoy your vrs and wish you good luck on your project,i will be attending one or two events in the next twelve months and hope to see these giant slaying antics for myself, but you must surely realise why on balance we are sceptical about your claims.:)

Becareful, because you'll be 'one of those people' that are on forums, that go around telling the dreamers, they need a reality check.

to be honest it could have happened, jason's car did a 0~60 sprint at trax and he was only a second behind a porsche gt,you know the 325000 one, does it mean his furby is only a second slower to 60 than the afore mentioned porsche? No it means the supercar driver couldn't drive for ****,so maybe we are being a bit harsh snoopie, trouble is we have heard all this before so we are a little cynical;)
