2008 Nurburgring Trip 10th to 13th May 2008 - Booking!

When you 6 / 7 cars get off the ferry at Dunkerque at 11am, look out almost immediately you leave, as Will and I will be waiting for you lot. :) We'll try and find somewhere with adequate parking.

PS: WALKIE TALKIES ON CHANNEL 5! ;)

Jase, as you head towards Dunkirque / Belgium, there is a rest area on the motorway with toilets and loads of parking - it's where we always used to meet up when there 20+ of us + bikes. About 10k from the ferry terminal

Then this is where we'll meet. From memory I think it's a Texaco, but we'll just find the best place.

Can EVERYONE going please note that we will all meet in the FIRST stop on the E(42?) out of Dunkerque toward Brussels, etc. :)

Noted, thanks.

I've drawn a blank on the walkie talkies, i'll have to rely on sat-nav if i lose the convoy.

Well I've got the Tom Tom download blues

Been trying all week to get this western europe map on my brand new 'GO'

It just wont have it

My pooter is practically steam powered so I was at a friends today with his brand new lap top and 6 hours later that failed too

£60 and I cant even get it onto the device never mind be taken down a dead end river and be murdered.

The file can be downloaded for a year and thats about as long as it will take at this rate

Hacked off, very!

I struggled to get the latest map onto a go 910, the install process kept on failing. It turned out in my case to be configuration issue with tomtom home, check in the tomtom home setup that ALL the directories exist and are located on the C: drive and it should work fine. It took me ages to spot the problem, but it downloaded and installed first time afterwards.

Everyone about ready!? I am, although the car and packing is gonna be done in a rush job after work tomorrow. Can't be bovvered this evening.

Yes, you all have a good weekend and take it easy.

Dont forget to try the apfelkuchen in the restaurant.

Still got the packing to do and the car to wash..

Got the sat nav sorted (fingers crossed). Should get all the packing done tonight... Once I've done a few more laps on GT4 :D I have tomorrow off work so I can spend all day cleaning and getting any last min jobs done :)

:woohoo:

Can't wait now :D

It was raining all afternoon so hope to hover and wash/wax my car tommorow ,

I still can't find my adaptor for uk/eu 220v electricity plugs :(

Almost forgot , i have to go to the bank as well

What else? passport , packing , tom tom , car insurance , this is sorted!

Jasson first petrol station is that the one in Belgium where we fill last year on the way to Prague , if you remember ?

Might be Irin. Might be one sooner, but not sure. If it's the first one in Belgium, then so be it. :)

I'm not bothering to wash the car here as it's meant to be a bit crap tomorrow, but we'll be driving into the good weather. Therefore, I'm just taking a bucket and a cloth to make her look better over there. Also got detailing spray for the windows as likely to be quite bug infested with warm weather. :)

The first services are in Belgium....Middelkerke I think

Cheers Lance.

For everyone else's info - Worth noting incase of separation, etc,

The cabins are numbers 230 231 and 232. All are booked in my name. We get 2 sets of keys per cabin, so you'll need to ensure no-one is locked in and a keyholder is appointed (two of them :o)

The other thing is TWO cars per cabin may park outside the cabin itself. The main carpark is close by the cabins we've booked, so is not too much of a hassle. I might pull rank and keep mine by my cabin the whole time. ;):D

Ive still got to pack/wash car/ etc.

Think a last few laps on gt4 might be worth it.

Everyone about ready!? ...

We thought we were.

Matthew, one of my party is in serious bother with his Honda NSX and needs to source a pair of front discs urgently.

We will be driving tomorrow from Holyhead to Dover and would appreciate it if anyone knew of a Honda dealer / Honda parts source close to our route and could get the information to us.

If we can get the parts we can fit the discs ourselves - and at this stage cost of the discs need not be a consideration.

If any one has any ideas if you could txt either Matthew on +353 87 282 0959 or myself Pat on +353 86 267 0704 with the name of a place , a telephone number and a post-code, we will be very, very, grateful.

Thanks in anticipation.

I just did it in 7mins 39secs in an M3 CSL with 500bhp :D

Plans Motorsport

Are a lotus specialist near Guildford who also are an approved NSX garage as well.

Worth a try.

Good luck

Thanks for that I'll try it but Have now run out of disc space on my desk top, have managed to get the map into my laptop but it wont budge from there.

Have been on to the helpline and they cant understand why either.

I'm off out now to get some walkies :( and a map!

I nearly ready just do a 'quick' oil change and chuck everything in car later, maybe wash it too and possibly DIY brisky stickers (but possibly not:eek:)
