Porsche looks awesome!

I'll be aiming for a sub 10 minute lap, but will not be timing, or if I do time, it will not be anywhere I can see it as I'm going round. :)

Think I found out the reason why the Ring is open on the Monday now - It's Whit Monday in Germany that day!

Oh well, will be just like a normal weekend day then really.

They do well in Germany for the bank holidays, May 1st, 5th AND 12th. Two long week-ends in succession, so hopefully they'll all be too tired to go driving.

We can hope. :D

I have sorted out cabin arrangements at the minute. As I'm still not fully booked for now I'm nabbing a room all to myself. :P Perks of the job and all that! ;)

Cabin 1

Mathepac's 4 - two twin rooms

Oilburninut + Blade404 - two double rooms

Cabin 2

Babs + Myself - two twin rooms

Southpaw + Tigger - two duoble rooms

Cabin 3

Irin + GT/Clarey - two twin rooms

Jason's +2&3 ;) / Veekar - two double rooms

It was great to have an equal number of couples/non-couples as the 2 twin rooms / 2 doubles per cabin worked out well.

Although I officially have only ONE space available, please PM me if you wish to bring along your SWMBO / friend on the trip. There is still the possibility to squeeze two more in. ;)

Hey lads,

Just had an idea, maybe you've thought about it already but sure...

Why don't you swing by Spa Francorchamps in Belgium? It's not all that far over the border from The Ring and is ment to be an amazing track. Just a thought.

Circuit de Spa Francorchamps

(I'd love to head over with you but had plans for around then).

Best of luck!

Nice idea but the scheduling and stuff of this trip basically rules out any extra time spent elsewhere. Its going to be 2 days of travelling (not literally) and 2 days of indulgent Ring action..... no pun intended.

and 2 days of indulgent Ring action.

I'm not sure that I want to share a cabin with you any more....

You join us in Cabin 1 and listen to Gary's tales of victories over Evos/Scoobies/Skylines/Veyrons etc ;):P:rofl::D

I've been slowly learning the track on Forza.... got a 9:15 in a Seat Leon Cupra R (closest thing to an Octy vRS on there)

I'm not aiming for a time though, I'm just gonna have some fun :)

Lend me your car Jason, I'll do ya a sub-9 :D Target for you: my old SDI did an 8'43" BTG, or if you want more of a challenge, beat the 1.4 16v at 8'32", just don't put it on the roof as that just wastes precious seconds :haha:

Thanks Jason for the room chose now i already know my room mate

The Ring on Forza is much better than GT4 :)

Must not get angry if a Golf overtakes me  thinks me, ring virgin in a skoda vs Hans the ring veteran in a tuned R32

Thats a good one, all the best points from Ben lovejoy's site with a 'how to' video aswell.

That bit about helmets isn't right tho'?

That bit about helmets isn't right tho'?

No - That's an odd one that! It's still a public road at the end of the day. I'd only wear one if in a racecar and "having it!" or in a Caterham or similar.

Hmmm? how far off 'race car' is the mongrel now you've got your new head and manifold?

I feel like a racer just because there's 4 toyos sat downstairs in the kitchen :o

God, still a 5 door hatch FFS. :P

Mine's got a little more poke than the average 5 door hatch, that's all.

Nothing to see here just a small 5 door hatch

Feet on the ground, its the best place for 'em :)

'bout them walkie talkies, is 3km range enough?

  • Author

More than enough. I got some free ones and they seem to work within 1 mile or so. :) In a convoy situation thats more than adequate.

Excellent just need to decide between transformers or spiderman

Congrats on the redness btw

Right! Looks like early booking at Center Parcs has paid off, all three cabins are right next to one another. Just had bookings through the post and we have cabins 230, 231 and 232.

From the looks of the site map, this is also very far at all from the public car park that many people will have to park in (two cars per cabin allowed outside the cabins themselves :))

Cool, are they actually purple? :)
