I've never driven on the continent either  I should be able to get euro maps for my sat nav though :)

I've got a whole host of euro cd's for my satnav... i'm hoping the "major roads of europe" one will save me swapping and changing :)

Haven't decided if I'm leaving from Dover or Hull yet though

Still thinking :P

Well, I know I'm not driving up to bloody Hull that's for sure. :D At least Dover is just 4 hours drive for me. :)

"Major Roads of Europe" will get you there

Gunderath is the destination in Germany, for anyone that needs it It's a perfectly split 50/50 journey for me. 251 miles to Dover, then 253 miles to Gunderath from Dunkerque.

Gunderath

Is that the rendezvous where we're all meeting up, or the location of Centreparcs?

I'm getting more and more tempted by Dover... Liverpool to Dover on the Friday Night... travel inn overnight then the ferry in the morning ;-)

Jason , if you are booking the basic chalets ,make sure everybody is aware that they need to take sheets/pillar cases for the beds ,towels and plenty of bog rolls

i'm still here thinking of going , but its a bit, been there , done that for me , and i don't know whether the car will last another trip

Yup - Learned a lot from the last time.

going to have to declare myself out :( can't get the time off:( so the ring is a safer place this time :P

I'm going from Dover, it will be a long drive through the night for me, but i prefer driving to sailing.

Plus i haven't got time off work, so i've only got to phone in sick for 2 days.

I've got a tomtom with european maps, not used it south of birmingham yet!

Edit: Just done home to dover and tomtom reckons 4:30hrs for me, not as bad as i thought.

No problem. Do you have any walkie talkies? I have a 2nd one I can reserve for you if not. :) In a convoy situation you either need to be in comms by walkie talkie, or make every effort to keep up with the person leading. :)

...or make every effort to keep up with the person leading. :)

If the person in leading is either Jason or Steve... forget it!! :D:rofl:

I found that out at the last Weston Meet... beautiful sight as your car roars off into the sunset Steve ;)

I've got satnav and I've never been abroad... you can tail me if you like mate... the offer's there :)

4.5 hours on a good run, don't forget the M1 is still a building site , so will have 40mph limits

i did Chester to Dover , left at 12.15am , arrived at 5am iirc , but the weather was sh1te around the M25

Look whats going on the same weekend of this, anyone fancy a quick jaunt to the legendary Mimon airfield? ;)

some of the evening pictures look "interesting":D

I think it would be best not to venture to Mimon as well....

When I say "keep up with leaders" I only mean in terms of not getting baulked by the yokels over there. Typically this can be done by mirroring the car in front in terms of overtaking, so the convoy is maintained.

Im all paid up :)

Jason - if you let me know once you receive the cash so I can mark myself as paid.

This trip gives me an incentive to get the eibachs / new brakes / tyres / wheels fitted - guess I'll be busy.

I'll add "PAID" notes by everyone on the list as and when I see credits coming through.

As much as I'd like to drive there in convoy I really don't want to drive down to Dover, then there is the difference in mileage.

From Hull to (via Dover) C.P is 600 miles, from Rotterdam to C.P is 221 miles... so it doesn't cost that much more to go via Hull (for me anyway) :)

how much are tickets from Hull then? I am in Sheffield and everytime I drive to Czech I go via Dover as it is so much cheaper with Norfolk line.

cheers
