Need help, instrument cluster display illumination

Recommended Posts

I have a Skoda Yeti adventure (2013). After an interior cleaning, the instrument cluster display presents a serious problem, its illumination is very low, especially during the day (sunlight), we hardly see anything. Otherwise (when the outside light is not strong) we can see everything and the display parameters are correct. help me please.....

The instruments can be dimmed using the scroll wheel next to the headlight height adjuster scroll wheel.

If your car is left hand drive, it should be just to the right of the light switch.

Try that and see if it makes a difference

no worries, Clive. Handy having a LHD version on the drive too :D

Ha, didn't notice, but did notice the dust on the switches though. :p

Thank you very much, Only the central display of the instrument cluster is concerned with this problem, by scrolling the dimmer wheel, illumination of the other elements (speed and rpm counter) is adjusted correctly. help me please....

it is impossible to attach an image from the pc !!!

Correct.

You have to put the image in a file sharing system, like Photobucket, and share it from there.

All explained here: http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/94040-making-images-appear-on-the-forum/

The Maxidot display brightness changes with the instrument lights dimmer beside the steering wheel.

The only time that is different is if an alarm comes up on the the Maxidot such as ice warning or tiredness alarm etc. it brightens for a few seconds.

Does it brighten up if you turn your headlights on?
There is a sensor in the speedometer display that will dim the lights if it's dark and you do not have headlights on

If your display is very dim and does not change with the rheostat there is a fault.

Probably not anything to do with it but to get rid of any suspicion that it may, clean the two dials either side of the Maxidot.

Page 69 of the manual

On vehicles with MAXI DOT display  the brightness of the instrument
lighting is set automatically. A manual brightness adjustment can therefore
only have a limited effect.

dusty in algeria i think, he's working, get real!

There is an ambient light sensor in the tachometer that affects instrument lighting, it would at least eliminate a problem source!
