  2. I was wondering if i could go up to MST2_EU_SK_ZR_P0480T
  3. I have the same problem and lubricating the top door seals with Liqui Moly or AutoGlym rubber care makes the problem go away but only temporarily. Noise stops if I crack the window open even the tiniest amount of. If I stand outside the car and push on the top of the window frame it creaks very badly so I am assuming this is the issue. So @Marcinek do you know which way they adjusted the striker?
  4. It'll be interesting to see what the cause of the DTCs is - @travs was fairly rigorous with the mallet, but I will be suprised if one glancing blow onto the dust shield or knuckle would knacker an ABS sensor. In all fairness, it was a joke of a day. Absolutely nothing played ball, and everything required three hands and a lot of "well, what if we...". Knackering the thread was disappointing, but by 10pm I think we were both pretty tired. Certainly, it's been the worst day of ratcheting since getting the BMW stuck in neutral after triggering an airbag failure the day before a fourteen-hour drive. I don't understand why VW would fit external corrosion-prone components with small triple square fixings - absolutely useless. Bear in mind, too, that the car isn't exactly old, or that high mileage. Sure, we aren't mechanics, but with decent capability and the correct tools, it should have taken less than four hours to do two rear droplinks. Quite why one side required the weight of the car to push the bushing in, while the other just popped in, we shall never know. Oh, and for those wondering - yes, you can drive a mile or two with the locking wheel bolt key fitted to the wheel ;)

  6. Evening folks. Suspension, ride and handling tonight. I think this is an interesting discovery. DCC+ is amazing! Even on the 19" rims which, with the larger rim and consequently thinner tyre sidewall, the dynamic suspension does a great job. It's standard with L&K trim, optional with SE-L, and not an option with SE Technology. Unsure whether it is standard or optional with Sport trim. Whatever, make sure you choose it because it is excellent. Here's the thing, our Velar had air suspension but sat on 21" rims. Plus she was heavier and had a much higher centre of gravity, being an SUV. In comfort mode the Velar could waft along, just. She did suffer from some slightly weird lateral wobble, something other Velar owners have mentioned. And, because of her weight and SUV bodystyle, Land Rover had to stiffen the suspension to stop it wallowing in bends. The Superb can waft and, in many ways, wafts better than our Velar despite not having air suspension. This shouldn't be possible but it is. With DCC+ set to the extreme softest setting. Around town or on roads where there is absolutely no requirement to press on, this setting is a proper substitute for air suspension but without all the complexity of a compressor and inflatable rubber on each corner. There's just one issue, and it is a big one. I have found that the Superb displays a tendency to understeer if you enter a bend too fast. In this 'waft setting' the understeer is much more pronounced. American Cadillacs from the 1970s spring to mind! In town it's a real boon. Road imperfections are ironed out well. It's a really nice setting. And there is no discernible noise from those rear shocks. Not yet anyway. Maybe Skoda has resolved the issue with the early cars? Meanwhile, we have the other extreme. And this surprised me too. Driving south from Edinburgh along the twisty but rewarding A7, the preconfigured Sport mode was decent, sure footed but not exactly engaging. It made the car competent on what is a pretty challenging road. Ride comfort is still more than acceptable even in this mode. But tonight I selected the most stiff of DCC+ settings and, although I didn't have much opportunity to test it, I think we may have something here! Yes, the ride is is more raw, you sense surface imperfections, coarse road dressing, plus anything that is not tied down begins vibrating - but honestly, that's not much unlike the Mercedes SLC200 we own. It's always a trade off between ride comfort and handling. In this setting the car is much more responsive to steering input, the understeer seems tamed and....I fear I may be speaking too soon....the car is entertaining and engaging to drive. If you can accept the raw ride you get to enjoy the handling. Who would have thought it possible to enjoy such a setting on a Skoda Superb Estate! I said to Mrs A this evening that the car is really very impressive but, looking at it as a passing motorist, you would never guess. A wolf in sheep's clothing? More generally, the ride comfort on the optional 19" Veritate rims is fine, but then it depends what you've been driving recently - our SLC200 is not the last word in ride comfort on broken surfaces. Some folk have spoken about cabin noise when I have watched YouTube reviews of the Superb. It's road surface tyre noise, not wind buffeting etc. The acoustic glass does a good job at creating a hushed cabin but, on those coarse road surfaces the increased tyre noise is noticeable. Not an issue, but noticeable. This is where Audi. Mercedes and BMW earn their corn. More sound deadening felt insulation and thicker carpets. This is one of the areas where the premium brands try and create the gap. I just think that Skoda hasn't stuffed so much sound insulation around the cabin and, to my eyes, the carpet looks a bit thin and the pile (if you can call it that) seems short and cheap. We have mats on mats (rubber atop carpet mats) which helps a little. On a smooth road surface the tyre noise is almost non-existent and the acoustic glass keeps the wind noise hushed. She has a good drag coefficient so she's no slab of an SUV trying to force its way through the air. All good. But the M20 between Maidstone and Folkestone? The southern section of the M25? Those concrete motorways will be noisy! Smooth, Swiss tarmac? Perfect! Part of the issue here is our choice of the 19" optional rims. The DCC+ can mitigate the issues with ride comfort but it cannot silence the road roar, slight exaggeration there! It will be interesting to sense the difference when the car shifts to her 17" winter rims, these being ordered yesterday from the Czech Republic and now being shipped across Europe by FedEx. The UK importer shows them in the brochure as an accessory but they don't sell them here! I will review skodaparts.com when everything eventually is delivered. In conclusion then, I am really happy with the ride comfort delivered by DCC+ and would highly recommend it. The understeer that comes with the Superb having the engine positioned so far forward isn't great but it is at the margins since we, and I am guessing most other Superb owners, are not wanting to drive like an F1 driver? And those extreme settings at the end of the DCC+ spectrum creates a wonderfully smooth ride, or alternatively an engaging one (just!). So far then, the car is excellent. Best wishes.
  7. Hi, I'm in Australia and have a Mk II Superb Kombi. I had the ABS module replaced by a non-Skoda garage. Since then, the rear windows, electric seat adjusters and the cigarette lighter sockets don't work. Any ideas on what's going on?
  8. Not today, but Monday. A lovely Rover 110 at Cairn Lodge services (M74)
  9. It seems great. Thanks again
  10. I hear that; last weekend - wrong LCAs, last minute realisation that Superpro front droplinks were still too long for lowered suspension so had to get new ones. 3 hours on one rear droplink because it just would not fit in the lower arm - had to jack up the other side to bring the tip of the arb into position, fit the end in the arb and persuade the base into the lower arm. Car fought me and @OccyVRS on everything and the final straw was me not getting the front pendulum bolt lined up in the DSG casing and butchering the thread. That now needs to be helicoiled 🤦🏻‍♂️ May also be that I’ve been too ham-fisted and either damaged a wheel speed sensor (or hopefully just dislodged a plug) which is causing some of the Christmas tree effect currently on the dashboard. Appreciate it’s not a competition, just securing my position on the bandwagon.

  14. You already have the latest official firmware

  16. Quite likely it was built before May 2011 then. Let me know if anything in the above wiring snippet doesn't seem to correlate with what you find, but I doubt it will be an issue. The main problem you'll face - I think - is that the relay panel on Fabias isn't really intended for easy after-build access.
  17. I sit corrected, thanks for the info: AUTODOC unlocks UK market potential with new Manchester hub - AUTODOC
  18. I only know from the V5C the date of first registration was June 2011. Thanks for spending your time on this Breezy_Pete. It is much appreciated
  19. That is absolutely correct you've nailed it. It happened twice now with AD, first time with wrong front pads where they send me pads for 312mm disc even though mine are 340mm which i filtered out, checked against chassis number, cross-referenced with oem part number and even spoke to their technical team who told me that particular part was correct which it wasn't. Same thing this time, Eibach themselves confirmed which kit i need based on chassis number and load ratings for each axle. Checked with Autodoc and boom still wrong. Understand everyone can make mistake but it's the resolving approach what makes difference. In this case they failed miserably.. . lesson learnt
  20. MarioVrs started following Autodoc - avoid!!!
  21. Definitely got to watch where you buying from. I'm now! But even then a decent company with good reputation can make mistake but difference is how these companies approach it afterwards... With Autodoc i couldn't believe my eyes. But still nothing beats my experience with ML Performance this year! And i bought loads of stuff from them over the years
  22. Apparently they opened UK based place in Manchester this year. How true that is I'm not sure. But definitely won't be buying from then again!
  23. Another one for Autodoc - same experience as OP had on two occasions!!! Avoid
  24. Thanks mate 🙏🏻 it certainly has been a major pain in butt for me with mods this year 🥱😣
  25. Yes i did, been shopping on eBay since 2009. Unfortunately at the time these parts were only available from handful of places and Autodoc was way cheaper -lesson learnt
  26. I'm seeing conflicting info on how much of the glow plug should get ceramic grease on it. I'm unsure if just the stem? or thread and stem? - and if on thread, is torque value lowered 20-30% or not? I did one 3 years ago without much bother and I forget exactly what I did. A second one needs doing now, so coming back to this task!
👍 Hi Sven from Norderstedt in Schleswig Holstein. Freiburg in the Altesland? Please be aware that the default language on Briskoda is English. There's plenty of translation websites if you struggle with English. But welcome to Briskoda and the Skoda family 👍
  28. Wiring diagram for CGPA mk2s built before May 2011 is subtly different but functionally equivalent, I believe. Do you know when it was built?
  29. Hallo. Ich bin Sven aus Freiburg /Germany und fahre einen 13 jährigen Octavia RS der viel Freude macht. Ich freue mich auf den Austausch 👍💪 Grüße Sven

  31. First hypothesis is toast then. Here's the relevant circuit of the fuel pump relay - J17- and the so-called fuel supply relay J643 (which should kick in for a couple of seconds when driver's door opens for the first time after at least a half-hour layoff). Triggered via BCM pin taking the lower coil connection of J643 low. [173] connects to fuel pump. [37] is a permanent 12V from fuse 46. [136] is a feed to the ECU relay. J643 lives in position 10a in cabin fusebox
  32. Cause aside, make sure to try and dry the carpets every day. Stick some dehumidifier bags in there, and even consider pulling the carpets/underlay. The problem is temporary, but any mould and mildew will be permanent.
