  1. Knew it was you in the Citigo! Some pictures on my holiday last week with the Battalion30Five GT-R group across Europe to Romania. Got back having done 2,650 miles in 9 days. (Had to change plates part way as car was booked on Romanian tax thing using different plate by accident)

  2. So, after the voluntary transfer, last week Skoda refunded me one month PCP rental. Today, they have sent me the final invoice requesting that I pay it within 14 days. It just has the extra mileage charges, the wheels, although highlighted on the report and being pretty trashed, have not been charged for. Well done Skoda. I'm impressed.

  4. 19/6/17... Finally able to use the Garage, Albeit without the Floor tiles but the 2 x Part Clear Resin is doing the job and the Floor is bone dry with no dust plus is Water and Oil resistant. The new Ramp has now set and for the first time yesterday I was able to put the Car and Bike in! Still got to get some power installed which will happen over the next Month but I am now very happy that everything is sorted. Bags of room in the New Garage too. The new Toy, 2002 Honda CBR600F, Fuel Injected Model...

  5. Well there is a reason. I'm not surprised really. A bit like Jo Cox I'm guessing this is a very angry, unstable man. Unfortunately I doubt it'll be the last one. This is part of the reaction the terrorist want. They want a religious war so they're quite happy for reprisals against their own people.

  7. Good evening all. My name is Richard (Rich) and yesterday I became a proud owner of my first ever Skoda. After much deliberation I decided upon a fairly well specced Octavia vRS Estate in meteor grey. It's been great so far, especially having never owned an estate (I prefer to call it a wagon) or DSG. Do people do 'build threads' (apologies if this isn't in the lingo - I also have a couple of classic minis). I've a few ideas on some subtle final touches. Any how, great to be here.

  8. Hello all I have recently purchased my first Skoda. She really is a lot of fun and cannot complain at the experience I have had so far. As you can see she is not standard. Hosting a few mods such as coilovers and a stage two remap whilst keeping hold of that glorious red, she is a real keeper. I have many questions however I will post them in the correct thread. Thanks for having me!

  10. Bluetooth isn't part of the Columbus, it's a separate module. If you're having trouble connecting to Bluetooth, I wouldn't particularly think the Columbus would be to blame. But try the disconnect first and see if that helps. After that, you can try the dealers, but they'll charge you the earth and don't really get too involved with the inner workings of the Columbus unit. They'll most likely end up trying to sell you a new system so be sitting down when they tell you how much. Or if you're convinced it's the Columbus you can send it to me and I'll run a check on it and see what's going on.

  11. "The unlawful use of violence and intimidation, especially against civilians, in the pursuit of political aims." https://en.oxforddictionaries.com/definition/terrorism There's a very real chance that this was carried out by someone who sympathises with the EDL/Britain First anti-muslim agenda/viewpoint/whatever you want to call it. If confirmed it would match the definition quite well IMO.

  12. Hi guys, & as I was probably the guilty party in initiating the straying "off thread", I'll take the full the full & undiluted blame (I'm married, so taking the blame for everything from the weather, to a Tanker collision in the Arabian Gulf, comes as second nature to me), & issue grovelling apologies. All that I will say, is that as I have a 75 bhp at the moment, & No. 1 son has a 60, & I've driven/been a passenger in both versions over numerous miles. But when my PCP is up (in approximately one year from now) & assuming that I do go for another Citigo (more than likely) I'll go for the 60, rather than the 75. Perhaps (& I say only "perhaps") the 75 has "some" advantages over the 60 (although I personally haven't noticed any), although to upgrade from a 60 to a 75, is only a few hundred quid, so we're not talking about SOTA improved engineering here. The 60 is higher geared, & still does 43% more than the speed limit, which is more than adequate for me (& probably most ****-scared-of-speed-traps people). Also, it would appear that as substantial numbers of new Citigo's trundle out of the factory with a 60 engine as standard - the SE, the Colour Edition & even the Monte Carlo (which is advertised as the "flash" version) comes with a 60 engine as standard, so it is conceivable that the Citigo was possibly designed with the 60 engine in mind, & the 75 was but an afterthought, aimed at possibly scooping up yet a further few (& it is but a few) hundred quid. Certainly (although it could be just my imagination), No. 1 son's 60 sounds "purrier" than mine, and although mine's a Greentech, his is no less economical. If one drives well North of the legal speed limit, then perhaps that is when the 70 comes into its' own - but I don't, I'm too wary about speed traps. If one habitually thrashes the engine to within an inch of its' little life, then perhaps the 75 holds certain advantages - but I don't do that either, I never have a need to, and in any case, it goes against my inherent nature to "hammer" the living daylights out of an engine. Most Citigo-allied topics are well thrashed out on Briskoda, & if there were any blatant "failings" of the 60 engine, then I'm sure that they would have been aired far & wide, & we'd all be in possession of owners' apprehensions. So, in attempted crawling humiliation for straying off-piste, I personally have a 75 bhp: have done oodles of research & made mega enquiries (most competitors which have City cars only are offering around 60 bhp), & when I next go for a Citigo, it's going to be a 60 - whatever model it may be. Hope that this helps?????????????????

  13. Not downplaying his terrorist intentions but he is a muppet, a coward, a piece of dog **** what ever label you want to use. Just the same as the others that attacked London and Manchester. No distinction between colour or religion. Argue that whichever way you wish. I don't tend to refer to them as terrorists as the word indicates that I should be afraid of them and I'm not, so they've still lost.

  15. I think the way the media have covered this tragedy is deplorable along with some politicians who have used this as a political football and have stirred things up with assumptions and statements that are not correct. Sadly we can't turn the clock back or bring back the dead so let the full inquiry get to the truth. In the meantime check all other similar buildings and make sure this doesn't happen again.

  17. So today I went along to the VWG magazine rolling road day at awesome gti. I ran the car on the rollers and it made... 244bhp, 279ftlbs at 142mph and outside temp 26°c I'm really happy with the results as I didn't know what bhp it was running. I've also ordered the vwr fmic today with the offers they had running. Can't wait for stage 2 now

  19. So drove the VR down to Newcastle on Friday and back on the Sunday. Had the wife and soon in the car so was nice chilled drive but the ride was great. 3 hour drive with the car being lowered on the ST coilovers was great. Update with wheels. Should have some new wheels Wednesday if everything goes to plan. Also hoping to lower the rear more (might have to take out the rear adjusters) and also the front to get the stance sorted. Next on the list I think will be a new rear diffuser in gloss black then a front splitter.

  20. This message is normal if you drive for around 60s in a situation where the road is curved & the system thinks it cannot get a clear view of the road infront. I have the same message everytime I drive in a multistory carpark with helical exit ramps. About half way to the top (I always like to park on the empty floor ;)) I get this warning. After reaching daylight & a straight road the message dissapears. you can have the same thing if you drive in a tight tunnel where the road & barriers are curved.

  25. It might be worth getting a new timing belt at the same time, because it all has to come off. Related question: I've not seen this error in my car yet, but my timing belt is due next year (5 years replacement interval). If I go to the dealer for a timing belt + water pump replacement. I will get the new problem-free water pump, right?

  31. Don't accept the dealers suggestion to 'drive it for a while and see'. If there is a mechanical problem, do you really want to wait and see? Take it back, report your concerns, ask them to confirm it's safe to drive, in writing, or to book it in for investigation and any necessary remedial action. Gaz PS: Might be worth checking the wheel bolts are all tight.

  36. That means you should have the latest tensioner K, the issue still might be the chain itself as new design with suffixes AA or AD started I think from end 2013 ... Well, the value is negative, corretc? - 2.76°? Guess not yet critical, but as adviced, already needs at least real verification of the tensioner. When you can, let someone to check number of teeth/grooves protruded on tensioner through inspection hole, most trusted method for testing chain elongation together with verification if tensioner suffix K fitted. 37. Just been for a first drive in my new TSI VRS FL. Don't have a point of comparison with a pre FL but, the slightly jarring ride at low speed aside, I am a very happy new owner. It really doesnt feel like a big or powerful car on suburban roads but when you want it there is masses of overtaking speed and you build a sense of confidence in the handling very quickly. I'd rate it as better through corners than the 09 scirocco I had a few years ago. This feels like an awful lot of car for the money.
