  1. Part 1 Part 2 If you don't learn something from this... Even if only why Lane Enforce is a sub-optimal package. Oh and this guy has way more blue lights videos as well.
  2. What are you looking with? Try VCDS.
  3. I'm not sure if the car will let you or not (CANBus software), but I think the DoT position is that you have to have headlight self-levelling, headlight washers etc like on a factory install.
  4. Well, if that's any time other than during start/warm up I'd suspect head gasket failure.
  5. Go elsewhere; most local garages have VAG code reading capabilities, and I'm not sure I'd trust one that didn't to even do an oil change right!
  6. I don't think it's urgent; clean it up and look again next month.
  7. Easy/cheap test. Disconnect the MAF, and see if the engine runs better. If it does, you need a new genuine MAF.
  8. Also @dainius370 Well, certainly the seat belt pretensioner won't do anything actually useful since it normally works to tighten the seat belt. I think the steering wheel airbag is on a separate circuit and can't be interfered with by the seat belt unfastened status, but having a European size airbag go off without a seat belt is a bit like being hit in the face by a superheavyweight boxer! I'm afraid I can't advise on what happens or doesn't happen with side bags or curtain bags.
  9. Not as such, but the issue is definitely with the purely mechanical aspects of the seat belt buckle. Is the release button popping up/out properly? Also BTW this is likely to be a roadworthyness test failure if it occurs at the "wrong" time.
  10. It's not a bulb but an entire device them. What could possibly go wrong!?
  11. Also @cheezemonkhai - Certain, all I was suggesting was issues with dissolving fuel lines and maybe gaskets.
  12. I can assure you that some cars with halogen headlights have headlight washers; I've owned two of them (different makes).
  13. That would be an oxymoron; the operative word is "diode", which by definition only passes a current one way.
  14. Well, if you think that an underbonnet fuel fire is "slow-acting and therefore probably safely ignored"...
  15. Which trim? I'm fairly sure all Estelles in $year had the same wiring loom, but some had "more bits" than others.
  16. Yes; other notifiable modifications probably refer to things like change of engine, change of suspension medium (but going from multi-leaf to parabolic springs using the same shackle points and axle perches is a change of medium within the meaning of the relevant legislation).
  17. Yes; plasma discharge units and possibly LED.
  18. Actually, I think that's partly the fault of the "hazard perception" test, which actually penalises anticipation when approaching hazards.
  19. Yes, not least because I was thinking that this is a likely place for the leak to be.
  20. Points gap closes, leaning to loss of power, and eventually engine stopping. Points spring breaks, meaning no spark. Points spring remains intact, but points stick open. You can also get loss of timing (but that also applies to electronic ignitions).
  21. Those are both available wheel diameters in the UK.
  22. Not so certain about the mk2, but on the mk1 the L&K was an Elegance + leather and different pattern wheels.
  23. Suspect a broken wire in the bellows in the driver's door jamb. You will need to continuity test the wiring to find which one.
  24. Big clue as to what's driving your mechanic's motivation there. Also, there are at least 3 disabling failure modes in a Kettering arc distributor, and I've experienced all 3 of them!
