  1. Use genuine Terry Jubilee clips rather than the VAG spring clips.
  2. Shops yes, but I think you need a Skoda main stealer who is prepared to break their contract with their territorial importer.
  3. Buy different headlights! I already told you that the reflector is one piece each side, so you can not change the aim of the dip relative to the main beam.
  4. every time when you want a tow car.
  5. Despite the linguistic inaccuracy (a limousine is a car with a fixed divider between the front and rear seats), that's what you need; a "combi" is an estate car or station wagon in English.
  6. You'd need physically separate main and dip beam reflectors to do this. Sorry.
  7. Being exhausted due to being on a non-circular course. Or did you mean an "out of round tyre" like I said? In which case it's exactly what it sounds like; a tyre that's not round, causing more wear at one point on the circumference than others, and hence a rhythmic drone from one corner. As @e-Roottoot says, you're going to have to inspect the tyres or get someone to do it for you.
  8. Well IMO there's no point in running the fan if the thermostat hasn't opened.
  9. or an out of round rear tyre, or a problem with the front wheel bearings or tracking...
  10. Read the fault codes. All the light is saying is that there is a fault.
  11. I already said that is not a VAG fault code; they have a format of A9999. Maybe try P2893?
  12. I'm almost certain they're mistaken, or even actively lying. The usual cause of white smoke on a cold start is bad glow plugs. As others, avoid the main stealer and get an independent to check the glow plugs.
  13. Check the Customs and DVLA websites to find out what (other than paying duty) you need to do to get it registered over here.
  14. This is likely a very common fault with the level sensor in the expansion bottle. On a cold engine remove the cap, and look into the bottle. If you can see a couple of metal prongs sticking down into the coolant, rub a flat blade screwdriver down each of them a few times. If you can't access the sensor, you need to replace the expansion bottle, which cost ~£20 the last time I looked.
  15. Baffling you with bu11$h1t!! All they do IRL is lock in the twist that your chassis already has.
  16. Interesting, particularly since Lotus made a car (Elite type 14) with a composite monocoque in 1957.
  17. I don't believe in using "lock in a chassis twist braces".
  18. Which are "red" whatever colour you might think they are.
  19. I can see no reason why not. After all, they're not part of the United Kingdom...Ireland.
  20. Complete vRS struts and rear springs may be a way to go, lowering an Elegance, stiffening it a bit, and uprating the front brakes at the same time.
  21. Cool; this is part of my job, and a recurring issue with cheap OBD readers.
  22. I presume you mean the crankshaft rear seal. In which case either you have a slipping clutch so the gearbox has to come off anyway, or someone is telling porkies!
  23. This recommendation came about on the 1.8T and 1.9D engines because the cam belt drives the oxygen dihydride pump. This means doing all the work to replace the belt if you need to replace the water pump, and the water pump was effectively lived at about 1.5x the cambelt. I don't know the 1.0MPI engine.
  24. This is not a recognised VAG fault code (wrong format). Try your OBD manufacturer's website.
  25. Which is why I told him how to reset the service counter!
