Starter Motor slipping/Not catching ring gear
Never known that happen with a diesel. Well maybe. There are 2 different fault modes that could apply here:- Solenoid is not engaging starter pinion on ring gear. Ring gear is worn out. I could tell which in about 2 minutes if I was with you.

Front brake backplate corrosion.
... the length of the bolts/ set screws matters.

Vauxhall Corsa rental experience
Go for it; I've had to move in the UK about 18 months back for medical reasons and have my own list of "things that have changed".

Hence why they are also known as the Opel/Vauxhall Coarser".

There is no mechanical lock on it. Someone has worn out the friction lock.

HEADLIGHT UPGRADE AND BUMPER REPLACEMENT
No, because all that's being displayed here is 10 lines of alphabet soup, and I can't even find a hosting site name in it.

Kodiaq Cooling System
Ah the joys of lying VAG water temperature gauges. The only surprise there is that the gauge wasn't saying 88C.

Window seals
Sure, but as they're not there to act as water seals...

It would be simply clever...
...to sell cars with car adverts rather than cod dog agility show adverts.

Window seals
I'm sure it's not, because they're not seals!

Front brake backplate corrosion.
Similarly with a Citroen ZX (and some of those definitely had disc backplates).

Tyres any recommendations
If true, I guarantee that axle will feel like the tyres are made from concrete.

Tyres any recommendations
No idea, at least in part because I don't know if the 2 types are the same nominal size, never mind actual size.

Water dispersion!? I totally agree that WD40 is not, and never was, a dismantling lubricant.

ABS Adjustment, how to do?
Quite normal actions IME, and yes I do test my ABS from time to time.

I've booked a Tv for Sunday coming...

ABS Adjustment, how to do?
Makes sense; the brakes and hydraulic clutch use the same reservoir for the hydraulic fluid. You normally bleed each slave/wheel cylinder individually following a fluid change. As to triggering the ABS, braking for above 20mph on gravel, or a mixture of both. one on either side.

Alternator bad?
OK, it's not what I was thinking then.

Remap on a 2006 VRS?
Can't see why. What they should do is change the water pump, which is driven off the cambelt, lasts about 1.5x the cambelt (necessitating a new belt and all the associated labour) and takes about 15 minutes when the cambelt's already off. The garage I use for "big jobs" was asked to quote for the cambelt and came back with "This money, including a new water pump". Less certain either way about a remap, but even a generic map on a 1.8t180 should give you about 220bhp.

Security Alarm System Issues - Mk1 (53) Octavia Estate
If so, lock and unlock the car using the key, not the plip, until the alarm is fixed.
