  1. Well, that's a needle roller stuck to a magnet. Seriously, do not drive the car, because one of the bearings seem to be collapsing, and you could be looking at destroying the shaft the bearing is on, and possibly having a conrod escape through the block.

  12. You're unlikely to find a buckle by itself anywhere except a breakers. In which case, can you 100% definitely assert that the breaker's part hasn't been stress tested in a collision? I'll point out that it's your neck (quite possibly literally) if a used buckle fails, so do you have a £10 neck?
  13. Is there dust over one of the small, maybe 10mm each way, grilles near the heater controls? If so, start by cleaning that with a small brush and/or a keyboard vacuum. The other possibility that springs to mind is the exterior temperature sensor; easily checked if you have a trip computer and/or Climatronic.

  19. Also @ianch99 Settlement of a loan is always possible; the issue is in whether or not the loan arrangement imposes penalties on an early settlement, and to answer that you have to read the original document in full.

  22. Actually it was a manufacturer option on the Elegance, but headlight washers that work were standard.
  23. The ballasts are separate components to the bulbs. So you've only tested one component pair.
  24. That would work; the usual way of testing a fuse for blow under load is to fit a known good one and see if the fault goes away.
  25. None of which proves you don't have a blow under load on the steering strip fuse on the battery top.
