  1. That's some seriously low profile rubber you've got there.
  2. Not doing an a/c service only affects the a/c system, not say, the engine or transmission. All you have to do is have the system serviced to Skoda standards by a professional. In the case of an a/c system you have to use a professional to get the work done legally anyway.
  3. @WAUOla I'd save my money unless Norwegian law requires you to leave a failed vehicle to be rectified by the testing station.
  4. Maybe, depending on which specific roads he uses.
  5. Also @Carlston - That's how I read it too.
  6. Henry's North. They're handy for the shops, and some of us (like me) have had decent service from them.
  7. Road rash on the windscreen as well at that rate?
  8. Pretty sure it doesn't have coil packs.
  9. We don't know you that well. Our combined experience is that tyre edge wear is usually an issue with cornering technique and/or slightly low pressures.
  10. Like others, I am thinking of vacuum lines. Particularly the ones with external fabric armour, because the rubber under the fabric can collapse and fail without any visible evidence.
  11. A drive to Australia is a "short jolly"?
  12. I'm not certain, but I think you may be incorrectly assuming that the pedal mapping is linear with the physical travel.
  13. @Pappasmurf - If you're open to the idea that it may be a suspension adjustment issue, where do you work? I might be able to recommend a place to do alignment, but need to know if they'll be reasonably handy for you.
  14. Well, if you want to compare real World stuff, a friend of mine had an early Leaf. They lived in Skelmorlie (North Ayrshire) and worked in Alexandria (West Dunbartonshire). Mapping applications report the route as ~33 miles. She needed to recharge to complete this trip, and her husband didn't quite.
  15. 3 - You turn quickly, which causes outside edge wear even with accurate tracking.
  16. Just the outside edges? I've got 2 possible ideas, depending on whether or not the inside edges are also wearing.
  17. More likely the engine CTS is reading high, and therefore leaning off the cold start enrichment more than it should.
  18. Yes and? Orange OAT is a thing. Save your money until you've checked the specific gravity of the coolant.
  19. @edbostan @nta16 Ah, I was looking at the wrong mark. I'm not sure how those circular indentations will show anything once the tyre is about 1/3 worn.
  20. I'm not sure from your photo how what I'm looking at is any different to a Tread Wear Indicator (TWI), which have been around for literally decades.
  21. Yes and No. No because I've never driven that specific engine. Yes in that I have techniques that work with every engine:- Use "acceleration sense", by which we mean only accelerating hard enough to keep up with traffic, and approaching definite stops or slows on a closed throttle from a distance out. Keep revs between the lowest where the engine runs smoothly given the load on board and peak torque. Cruise in the highest gear consistent with the engine running smoothly at your road speed. Avoid harsh braking.
  22. No, because your car has indirect TPMS which uses the ABS sensors, so the set that are on it don't have direct sensors, and a second set of wheels won't use direct sensors even if they're fitted.
  23. Intermittent failure in the battery supply lead?
  24. WHich makes me think you have a leak in the line feeding the fuel filter.
