  1. That was my first thought from your original past; you need to change the transmission fluid (or get a garage to do it; used transmission fluid is horrible smell stuff).
  2. Also @Wilbur27 He said it. I once replaced a brake light on a Hillman Avenger, and tested the new one without replacing the cluster. The effect was to remove the earth point, and make the brake light and relevant rear indicator flash alternately.
  3. True, but that's a (non-turbo) Metro 6R4, not an MG Metro turbo, which was a fairly normal FWD Metro other than the unusual turbocharging arrangement.
  4. I had a similar issue a few years back. The price of (exchange) parts and fluids is more than the price of labour in a local garage.
  5. So, given that everyone is apparently OK, other than sneauflaix, what excuse was there for the length of the stoppage today?
  6. What he said; whatever they got the best price for 10_000 of the last time they were buying $size.
  7. I think, if I'm reading correctly, that you're trying to access a folder on the Windoze 10 machine from the older Windoze 7? If so, that may be your issue; Windoze 7 doesn't actually know that Windoze 10 even exists as a thing.
  8. @R_Blue I've never seen one, but the MG Metro turbo had a turbo then carb arrangement, and the carb had to be installed in a sealed box to hold (low) pressure in the carb.
  9. @zeka95 - My main technique with "self-adjusting" rear brakes (discs or drums) is to:- Stop on level ground, leaving the handbrake off Apply the footbrake as hard as I can 2 or 3 times Now, with the footbrake on, apply the handbrake hard as well Release the footbrake and then the handbrake. Handbrake should now be adjusted. Your (2) with the leaking wheel cylinder was coincidence.
  10. So you're claiming that, with no other modifications than one tank of "premium" fuel blend, the car overfuelled less?
  11. Never seen that version before. May I borrow it?
  12. I'd agree, with the side note that I think you'd need a remapped engine to achieve 130mph in the first place.
  13. Also @Iris_Heart - Well, I did once inquire about remapping a non-turbo injection car, and the people I inquired from said "maybe 10% more power".
  14. Well, for sure it's not a rear cv joint on an FWD car.
  15. LOLROFHMS!
  16. Do you make a habit of "riding" the brakes at stops? If so, then you've probably contaminated the discs with pad resin.
  17. Good to see Dan Lloyd and Turks in the thick of the action again, for all the right reasons this time!
  18. I thought as much; your Fabia is a diesel.
  19. Well, that makes me think Coolant Temperature Sensor, not thermostat. As for a leak, try adding some ultraviolet dye, run the car for a week or so, then look for the leak with a UV lamp (in the dark, and yes I read that you said Iceland).
