  1. Absolutely, at least if you can find an independent specialist to handle the cambelt and electronics.
  2. I don't actually remember seeing an "as delivered tread depth" stated in magazine group tyre reviews.
  3. Same "Sale of Goods Acts" apply to Local Motors as to, say, Arnold Shark.
  4. Well, you could start by telling us which engine it has, in order to find out if it actually has a timing belt.
  5. OK, if you don't want help from a software engineer who has over 194 comments for each one you've made, and who works with GPS systems, who do you want hold from?
  6. I repeat " you just need a GPS error". Got it now?
  7. It doesn't have to; you just need a GPS error that leads to it thinking that you're on a parallel single carriageway road.
  8. Big hint, no bigger than that. It's 10_000 miles or 365 days, whichever comes first.
  9. Why would it? Not having a spare tyre is not a reason for an MoT failure.
  10. Given that PACC sets speeds based on what road it thinks it is on, this is a surprise why?
  11. First you need to know what is the actual technical difference, as opposed to what a Skoda main stealer's "service receptionist" (aka upseller) will tell you. From here on, I will presume that you leave the A/C on at all times so that the shaft seals are in good order. Ignore the male bovine feces merchants who say "the a/c uses 10% to 15% more fuel"; it doesn't. 1% more is more likely when it's actually chilling the air for a modernish, say under 25 years old, system. The technical difference is that an AC service consists effectively of replacing the car's pollen filter every 2 or 3 years, and sometimes carrying out a regas. From this, we can see that the pollen filter probably needs replacing more often than you need a regas. On this basis, you need a regas, which a mobile regas service will do at your home or work, for ~£100 once every 6 to 10 years.
  12. 5 hours from Dingwall to Inverness and back (via Ullapool?) Note what I said about not using a main stealer in general and about Arnold Shark in particular. With this sort of distance, maybe talk to Victoria Garage in Maud?

Given that I'd think either slave cylinder leak (and the slave is inside the bell housing); by external I meant the fluid was leaking out of the circuit, which goes nicely with the puddle of hydraulic fluid. Or the master - slave hydraulic line has blown.

  15. If it helps, today is my 60th birthday.
  16. Put it down. It's heavy and you'll strain your back.
  17. A touch low, but not enough to suggest a bad cell.
  18. Contact an indy, rather than relying on main stealers, particularly if your nearest stealer is an Arnold Shark.
  19. Broken clock spring?
  20. I was wondering that, but that would give you a higher fuel consumption and possibly black or grey smoke.
  21. Well, they can be driven, but it feels a lot like you have arms failure, ah yes and will fail a UK mainland MOT (less certain about a Norn Irn one or an NCT).
  22. /\ What they said, and it increases the possibilities of failing an MOT and/or getting "pulled" by the police.
  23. I'm not an ENT, or a pharmacist, but that sounds plausible.
  24. Well covered issue; search for the error message.
  25. Step for a hint; do you have a manual gearbox or a DSG?
