  1. Sympathies. Has anyone explained how an MRI is supposed to detect damage to your inner ear?
  2. Sort of right; You've ignored the bit where it's illegal for anyone, even a licenced technician, to refill or "top up" a leaking system, and if you don't know how much gas was in the system you don't know it doesn't have a leak.
  3. Or not; that's the place where oil usually accumulates in the intake pipework anyway, and illogical as this sounds, it can leak from there without there being a boost leak there.
  4. Quite the reverse; self-regas kits that contain real refrigerants are illegal for an unlicensed person to:- Buy Use
  5. OK; it is illegal for anyone except a licenced practitioner of A/C maintenance to buy either of the main working fluids used in automotive A/C.
  6. No, but I don't know anyone who's had a positive experience with any other branch of DMK.
  7. What's "smart" about that (other than marketing)? We've been able to do that since we installed separate thermostatic valves about 25 years ago.
  8. Autotechnica: I've never heard of them but I have heard of DM Keith, just not in a good way.
  9. Not legally. Oh and I wouldn't go near a Skoda stealer with a job like this; look in Yell.com for mobile air conditioning service.
  10. Sounds like it. Listen to every connector from the turbo, through the intercooler to the inlet manifold if there's not an obvious popped joint.
  11. Not legally under UK laws anyway they haven't.
  12. Probably, but you do realise that a space saver should not be used for more that 50 miles, or for trips at or above 50mph?
  13. Edit in italic. Similarly a rear strut brace will increase oversteer by keeping the rear end flatter. I'm unsure whether both will increase grip or just result in a more sudden breakaway.
  14. Yeah, back to the stealership, but at least you tried first.
  15. Assuming Swedish market cars have the same sort of parking lights as UK ones:- Stop the car, and leave the engine running for now. Turn on the LH indicator. Stop the engine and remove the key. Open the door, and the lights on buzzer should sound. Check the LH front and rear sidelights both operate. If you didn't get the buzzer, that's your problem. If one or both sidelights don't operate, that seems likely to be your problem. Beyond that, I suspect a CANBus error.
  16. I thought my previous was clear enough; I think they may be ticking because of an air leak.
  17. Dunno about that either way. When I bought my Octy, I got an Arnold Shark "warranty", and lived in the Western Isles. They knew this, and were happy to approve warranty work by my local garage rather than pay for me to travel it Inverness or Glasgow.
  18. That (your car) sounds like air in the fuel system. Start by checking the filter, the filter connections and the connection from the fuel feed to the HP rail.
  19. Yes; OTOH auto lights are still way too good at turning your lights on when you go under a bridge, then leaving them on for the next 2 hours.
  20. Unlikely in this case; the OP states that he is in Jerusalem.
  21. @VanhireBoys - I'd agree with @AnnoyingPentium about the aerial base; it's a separate component from both the mast and the in-car co-axial lead to the head, and also the bit that is most likely to suffer water ingress.
  22. If they're rigid pipes, you need rigid pipes to replace them. Also, as @Breezy_Pete says, wait until they go porous before spending out any money.
  23. As @sepulchrave says. Also, make sure you are actually using a genuine VAG coil assembly.
