  1. Or sticking in. Either way, there is a possibility of tyres striking bodywork and/or suspension.
  2. @NatalieSearson Hi again. I'm thinking you should contact Perrys Barnsley, and inform them that if the faults are not rectified and the car returned within 7 days you will commence a legal rejection.
  3. You are just spouting legal generalisations.
  4. Ooh, bwap, fashion...
  5. OK, now explain why Toyo Proxes T1-R in the standard 205/55R16W size give an underinflation wear pattern when running the recommended pressures of Octavia1 Elegance and L&K models (observations taken by several different drivers, using different actual cars, living in different counties). Is it possibly that you are speeling generalisations and not hard facts on tyres?
  6. Yeah, I was going to say "engine FUBAR" based on running with the red oil pressure light on.
  7. Well, there's one Ferrari model where, of 13 built, only 21 are known to survive...
  8. Nice; switchable ASR was the only reason I got through one snow drift.
  9. One of these statements seems to be fundamentally wrong, without even knowing the engine code.
  10. RTFM! You've got it in instantaneous MPG, when you clearly want trip MPG or tank MPG.
  11. There's usually a type specific sticker on the inside of the fuel filler flap.
  12. OK, it says what it says, but I'd normally expect a gearbox (or differential) oil from period (other than British Laylow) to be something like SAE 90 EP, where "EP" is "Extreme Pressure".
  13. ? I'd interpret "recline" as leaning backwards (relative to direction of travel), and the control is usually a big knob (oh er musses) at the base of the backrest.
  14. "A few"; people who buy "real cars" rather than SUVs seem more likely to buy Octavias or Superbs around here.
  15. Seems likely, but the most even a good code reader will tell you is which corner the fault is at, not whether it's the sensor, the rotor or the wiring that needs replacing.
  16. Ok, my thoughts about the oil pickup are probably not right then.
  17. I've got a notion, but need to know about the mileage and service history.
  18. I don't know exactly what was done, but this raises questions in my mind about what oil was used (check invoice) and the (in)competence of the Main Stealer in question. As for where to go from here, that depends on the oil, but I would certainly switch to a local independent.
  19. Pros - Cheaper than paying full price Cons - Loosen dirt in engine Paying for unnecessary works Unlikely to be "done right" since this requires driving the car "engine hot" gently for about 200 miles with the flush in.
  20. You should; any recall that my (or my father's) car has been subject to specified the extent of the required works.
  21. Correct, no GPS is a time reference. Although GPS signals are often used to drive NTP servers.
  22. ... Global Positioning System. This is not a selectible time zone like GMT, BST, CET...
  23. That's a passenger side mirror for an LHD car.
  24. OK, I didn't say this in so many words before, but this means that the dip beam contacts on the column stalk (dip switch) are burnt out. It is nothing to do with the side/dip head/fog lights rotary switch on the fascia, as proven by the main beam being functional.
