  1. I don't know if a local car refrigeration technician wants to start such a project (cutitng and diversing pipes etc). Usually they start the excuses ''don't do it, leave it as is stock, don't mess with modifications, you are looking for trouble'' etc because they don't want to envolved, they prefer the easy tasks which bring them easy money. The 1.9 hasn't that rectangle plastic duct in front?
  2. To install the 1.6 radiator i had to pay a guy to modify the front duct to make it wider and pay a mechanic to modify the condenser pipes to gain few cm. On the other hand some cm will be lost on the other side since car's body metal sheet covers them. So only few cm (with such a cost) will provide remarkable thermal efficiency to say that the project worth it?
  3. @Thefeliciahacker : Is this what you have? https://kritosparts.gr/Part/PSYGEIO-NEROU-6U0121251C/e2876U0121251C
  4. Yes, it has been mentioned elsewere that removing this plastic duct only makes things worst, the inclinations on the sides makes more incoming air to "hit" the radiator and not lost in turbulances around it.
  5. This is the front-left the front-right and the Inside-right side. I see an empty space down there, the hose is from the end of the radiator estimated about 8cm plus at least 3 from the other side is 11Cm From the 1.3 radiator (485mm) to the 1.6 radiator (590mm) we have 105mm (10,5cm) so it may fit even a little bit tight.
  6. The black metallic plate where the fan is screwed, that cover has 2 bolts on top and 2 below the radiator. So we keep the radiarot fan, the cover and we install a bigger radiator from 1.6 which is few cm wider? I will take a photo tonight of mine from that spot since this old photo is not good.
  7. If i can "steal" 1-2 cm from one side and the 3-4cm from the other (which i can based in photos) then maybe. Must i buy the 1.6 metal cover too or i can keep what i have?
  8. Keep in mind that ''Gay'' in your language was meaning ''the happy guy'' and we have read this word even in poems of 1700 but now means something different. Also you use the word ''Idiot'', do you know that isn't a slander word and it's Greek? The meaning of it is '' the private person" (the man which does not want to bother with State matters) ? Now if you call a guy ''idiot'' in public you may have a legal problem although originally was just a simple term. If some Americans don't like British or some British don't like Americans or some Belgians don't like Germans or some Belgians don't like French or some Irish or some Canadians or some Polish... blah-blah...(I have no time for such things) __________________________________________________________________ OK since we finish this let's proceed to the radiator matter. This is for 1.6 without a/c https://www.skoda-parts.com/spare-part/007601405-radiator-china-2761.html Another one https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/172603331395?fits=Car+Make%3ASkoda|Model%3AFelicia&hash=item282ff5d343:g:RKgAAOSwuxFY3iey CORE SIZE: 590x322 plus this example https://www.car-parts.ie/car-parts/skoda/felicia-i-estate-6u5/1-6-glx-55-kw/radiator-parts/5259 I don't know if and how a 1.6 radiator can fit in a 1.3 engine bay since things are very tight.
  9. Here are 2 photos from my radiator, the back (the smaller) has only 3-4cm space till reach the bolt. I don't see how a bigger radiator can fit in there. 😟
  10. For us that term means ''girlfriend in a not serious relationsip'', it's not a slander and every young person here use it (in speach or writing) plus you can find it in song lyrics. Sometimes parents use it when talking in their children ''be careful don't waist your time and stick to your examinations, don't spend your money with them, you have been in vacation with them?'' and many times grandfathers-grandmothers reffer to that word. For married Men means ''the woman which have an affair'', it's a very common word here and even young women use it for themselves. I am 56, family man which served in the Army so this age i have no time for ''shiny gadgets'', i don't make jokes easily and i don't provoke others as many times young ''i know everything via internet'' people do. I will post photos tomorrow, i have gap of 3-4 cm till the plastic end of inner radiator reach a bolt with a hose from the outer radiator and i don't know if a bigger radiator can fit in there.
  11. I took today some photos from my radiator and when i post them i will ask some things about the 1.6 radiator but keep in mind i have a/c so things are a bit "tight" in there.
  12. Do i look like a teenager which installs things just for show to the broads? You came second, the Americans fo that, check for Rat Rod car or Hot Rod car. Why don't you make a strictly notice to them?
  13. I don't think that there could be a ''miracle solution'', a little bit from this-a little bit from that and we can make some gain. I wonder if the thread fits to our existing caps.
  14. The engine bay has less temperature than the coolant, for example the engine around the thermostat may have about 40-45 'C and the coolant inside the expansion tank 70 'C at least (and may reach 20 'C more).
  15. Can aluminium coolant expansion tanks help our coolant to get ''cold'' faster or there will be not difference comparing to plastic? If the coolant get ''cold'' faster, this won't help the engines performance?
  16. Oh, No... 80-85 isn't your thermoswitch? This will make radiator fan work much harder, i have destroyed a new one this way (the mechanic made wrong connection) and i have opened a topic for this.
  17. I have one scale lower thermoswitch in purpose. Yeah, high W electric fan and if it works often will add more load to the engine.
  18. The highest is 95°c at July for example in very harsh traffic situations. If i manage to extract some heat from the engine bay would do any good in long term? So we can make a modification to help it?
  19. @toot : You have also hood vents to help the hot air come out from the enfine bay.
  20. Yes, for the air filter box but i feel that extensive summer heat at traffic and old components make me worry. Those electric fans didn't helped you at all?
  21. I have no onerheating problems, the highest temperature that i have seen in traffic is one click above the 90 'C line, the 2nd scale works when i engage the a/c. I had the thought via a fan to brink more air inside or extract some of the hot air from the engine bay especially close to the air intake manifold.
  22. I know what you mean, i have felt that heat coming out from the sides but i was referring to the harsh traffic conditions in the summer, i thought that an auxiliary fan could help a bit at that time.
