How much time do you warm-up your Felicia?
D.FYLAKTOS replied to D.FYLAKTOS's topic in Skoda Favorit, Skoda Felicia, Skoda Fun and Skoda FormanUpdate: The Cold starts are getting ''weird'' which means i had the car parked for some days and at starting took about 3:40 to come from 1100 to 800 rpm, i went to work then back home, i park it for about 15 hours and when i get it it took about a minute. 9th Gas station pump test: 107,9 Km distance, 12,970 ltr fuel which means 12,02 ltr / 100 km or 23.50 Uk mpg (city traffic plus some kilometres in boulevard) The fuel consumption get Worst than previous and this i think because: 1) i found that the lever (clapet) was stacked in closed position which means only hot was coming inside the filter box and not cool 2) i had a fuel leak which one night get worst so i smell it hard and took the proper measures but i can't calculate how much gasoline i lost drop by drop all the other days. What's next? I will fix the clapet at opened position or i remove it permanently which means from the Cold start till the end of the day the car will get only air from the factory hose from the grille, for the last days i have just close the hot air hole with heat tape and the TC-6 shows in City traffic 10,1-10,2 ltr/ 100 Km which is sort of ''Good" but let's wait till the next gas station pump test.

I found a relative photo from the process that day, the mechanic used this Automotive primer DuPont BETAPRIME™ 5504G All-in-One Primer https://www.dupont.com/content/dam/dupont/amer/us/en/transportation-industrial/public/documents/en/BP5504G_SS_EN_001-20076-OIA0419_ESGR4168_.pdf Can be found in Ebay too.

When i aksed for a used part the answer was from all the sellers the same: ''when they disassembled the cars that rubber part plus those 2 on the front doors are damaged and throwed away, nodoby keep them separate'' This is not America with big scrapyard acres where you visit them and after making many cyrcles maybe you may find something interesting and take it, which seller will cut the wires and will give you this part intact? If you bought the 5th door then OK. Don't waist time with theories, if you can not find a new one buy a front and make the patent.

You keep the front part (which goes to the 5th door) from the original, you shorten the length of the Front door grommet You keep the back end (which goes to the body of the car) and the ''neck'' and you glue it with the original. After reinforcing the glued area for example with paper adhensive tape you make a test (up and down the 5th door few times) and Voila!

No, i couldn't find the rear (neither as used) so i bought one new for front and cut it to match. We are not the only ones, this is from a Greek BMW forum, a similar problem. Yes but produces more noise and i case you broke it you know the consequences.

Here is the mechanic's fingers removing my ''work'', as you can see after some months a cut show-up so i had to go to a professional to fix it permanently. You should have a heat-gun, for 16 euro you can buy one with temperatures till 500 'C which is enough for to many works that you can do as an amateur-hobbyist etc.

This is a photo before the modification from the mechanic, i had some silicone for aquarium on trying to reinforce the waterproofing. Later some extra cables must pass so i removed the grommet and the mechanic made things much better than me (proper materials as glues for plastic, windshield glue etc).

The link ask for access. You don't pull the whole thing inside, just the lower part. A gently heating from a heat-gun would help.

I had the same problem, i couldn't find in the local market that part even as Used so i thought that i could make a patent. I bought one from the front door which is a little bit longer and my mechanic shorten it. I know does not look like the factory but it's not easily visible by everybody. No problem with water, tested multiple times in purpose with garden hose plus many heavy rains in winter.- Tailgate wiring harness
I though i was the only one with problem with this part. You can make a patent with the one which is the doors, it's a little bit longer but you can manage to make it work, on the other hand one from a french car i think Peuegot fitls like a charm. I have photos to post in my pc, wait untill tomorrow to see mine.- Radiator Fan Maintenance Question
All i was trying to show is even when someone boughts a brand-new radiator fan can face a serious problem (as i did) Even a mechanic which was present in the parts sore insisted ''it's plug and play'' when i was explaining to the employee what happened to the previous one, i look at him in the eyes and i said ''don't be so sure''.- Radiator Fan Maintenance Question

The shipping from www.skoda-parts.com is very high because it uses couriers and not Post Office which means lot of money, sometimes more that the value of the part itself ! He wrote it crystal clear. Plus it does not sends to all the countries: https://www.skoda-parts.com/delivery.html- Denso IK16 Iridium (which never worked for me)
D.FYLAKTOS replied to D.FYLAKTOS's topic in Skoda Favorit, Skoda Felicia, Skoda Fun and Skoda FormanNo, i had in the past Bosch with 4 ''pins'' like these: Not something great.- Denso IK16 Iridium (which never worked for me)
D.FYLAKTOS replied to D.FYLAKTOS's topic in Skoda Favorit, Skoda Felicia, Skoda Fun and Skoda FormanMy Felicia didn't liked at all the Denso, the NGK worked very good but due to the wrong lambda sensor caused my a higher fuel consumption. I had iridium for many months in a small motorcycle but i had to remove them because i had a problem in the carburetor and turn them to ''black'' and i had rough idling etc.- Denso IK16 Iridium (which never worked for me)
D.FYLAKTOS replied to D.FYLAKTOS's topic in Skoda Favorit, Skoda Felicia, Skoda Fun and Skoda FormanI don't know https://www.denso.com/global/en/products-and-services/automotive-service-parts-and-accessories/plug/pdf/standardlist.pdf https://carshop.com.gr/denso-ik16-871.html "Compared to normal plugs, a 0.5ps (1.4%) improvement is seen in output at 110km/h. Improved Acceleration Increased response and acceleration performance" 😁- Denso IK16 Iridium (which never worked for me)
Many years back i had installed these spark plugs, those days were ''before the forum'' or ''before the internet'' as we say here which means i trusted the seller and his guide book. Indeed the reference from Platinum Champion RC89PYC to Iridium were these Denso, https://gr.sparkplug-crossreference.com/convert/DENSO_PN/IK16 https://www.auto-mall.gr/index.php?dispatch=products.view&product_id=665 i bought them install them after few months the problems began. I have explain those problems here and here ,today when i was cleaning a locker with some old parts i have found one of this damned Denso. As for educational purposes an you tell your opinion about them?- Online catalog with PART NUMBERS and ILLUSTRATIONS

D.FYLAKTOS replied to D.FYLAKTOS's topic in Skoda Favorit, Skoda Felicia, Skoda Fun and Skoda FormanThis make me nervous because may ruined my calculations for fuel consumption but since it warm here and i don't use the car often now i have to wait. As for Cold Starts, i think i have to give up the fight. In motorcycles i have used plain-drilled-grooved-floated discs and as for brake pads the factory-soft-hard, for brake fluids DOT4 and DOT5.1, factory brake hoses and metallic etc but now are many more companies in the market, new models etc so ''i have lost episodes'' as we say here.- How much time do you warm-up your Felicia?
D.FYLAKTOS replied to D.FYLAKTOS's topic in Skoda Favorit, Skoda Felicia, Skoda Fun and Skoda FormanI like the turns and not travelling in boring national roads with steady speed for long time looking far away in a straight line. I like to drive in mountain roads full of turns like these: https://i.imgur.com/hHXX5DV.png https://imgur.com/8hgxPdO https://imgur.com/ZQ3v2pZ https://imgur.com/zLt5RSj In the past i was driver with 2 stroke 250cc and 4 stroke 400cc motorcycles and i have an 30 years experience (in this style of roads) in brake pads, brake discs designs, brake hoses, suspension adjustment, coolant types, octane gasoline experiments, weight balance and ''racing'' between other drivers in mountain roads (yes, i admit it sometimes was wrong). I am a persist driver (not a Kamikaze style) and many times i have beat other cars higher HP than me because many times those drivers think that everything is like a straight line-press the pedal-lot of HP-i pass in front but when comes the time for consecutive turns often the ''lose it'' especially with braking. PS: before all these i was an armoured vehicle driver in the Army.- How much time do you warm-up your Felicia?
D.FYLAKTOS replied to D.FYLAKTOS's topic in Skoda Favorit, Skoda Felicia, Skoda Fun and Skoda FormanMy car was parked in a place where the sun has hit it hard, cold start less than a minute. I parked the car in a place under a shadow from a block of flats, cold start 3:40 I don't know what to say, the German electronics will drive me crazy! On the other hand, i discovered a fuel leak few days ago. 😲 Starting the car inside the underground parking i smell gasoline but few minutes later in the road this disappeared, this happened again some times but the mechanic said were the fumes from the exhaust. I decide to take action, i opened the hood and i notice on the air intake manifold a brown spot, i turn the key to the 1st scale and i searched with my fingers the 2 pipes which go to the fuel pressure and i discovered fuel drops! Although i was at work immediately run to a tool store and i bought 2 hose clamps and i fix it, since then no smell and no fuel drops. How much fuel i have lost? I don't know because this may started days ago slowly and later get worst and this may affected more or less the fuel consumption.- Kamei grill
I saw this yesterday, it's not for Skoda but is very interesting. How come the front grill is 90% closed right at the air entrance? https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/threads/how-come-the-front-grill-is-90-closed-right-at-the-air-entrance.52146/ and a relative video for Front grille and not only: - Tailgate wiring harness
