  1. How quickly does it start after being left overnight? If it takes a long time that could point to the glowplugs.
  2. That also jogged my memory and I've found a couple of links one of which mentions a locking device.
  3. That Highway Code definitition would only apply if you shifted from D to N. With it in D you have full control when it's "coasting".
  4. Agree. Find out why you can't remove the card. It's possible that's affecting the other port.
  5. It's an Amundsen as the Columbus system does not use an SD card for the sat nav.
  6. Do you have 2 ports so you can try it in the other one?
  7. I wasn't talking about the voltage, just the fact that as the front is live all the time so the rear would be if they're on the same circuit.
  8. As far as I know they're both on the same circuit. Just plug something into the boot socket and see if it still operates after you lock the car.
  9. The 12v socket in the console or the one in the boot?
  10. This is confusing as you have two similar threads running. Have you told the battery management system there is a new battery as suggested in the other thread?
  11. Was the battery management system re-coded so it knows there's a new battery?
  12. Going by Skoda UK's 5 year recommendation, you are due for a timing belt change which will include the water pump.
  13. I run mine in eco all the time because it gets into the higher gears more quickly. With all the 20mph zones everywhere I'm in 4th gear using CC. It also stays in eco mode after a re-start, even overnight.
  14. It's always seems to be the luck of the draw with batteries. Mine is 9 yrs old and I've always used start/stop.
  15. If it's an Amundsen unit, you have to use a genuine Skoda SD card, an ordinary SD card will not work. Can you provide a screenshot of the version number for your unit and someone will be able to give you more info?
  16. Try using the handbrake only. If there's no squeak it could confirm your suspicions that it's coming from the fronts.
  17. This subject has been covered before. The handle is flexible enough to pull it sideways to clear the speaker.
  18. You don't say what engine you have, how many miles its done etc. There are quite a few threads on this subject which can be found using the search facility.
  19. I did reply to your original post last month. There is a youtube video.
  20. I agree on your points except the one regarding the TPMS whereby it lets you inflate the tyres to the incorrect pressures. It would have to be a very sophisicated system to detect different tyre sizes and profiles. It would also have to know whether the car had only the driver or was fully loaded, unless this info was loaded into the computer beforehand.
  21. Then you don't have sat nav. The SD slot is just for music files
  22. Do you have any card in the slot at the moment. Do you have a "nav" button on the unit in the dash?
  23. If your expansion tank has the wording "mit silikat" on it, it's possible the silikat "tea bag" inside has burst causing the contamination. There are many threads on this subject.
