  1. Completely normal. It's to remind you to turn the lights on...
  2. IIRC, when there are enough button presses while the key is out of range of the car, they will lose sync with each other. The car will relearn if you use the key in the door lock and then press the buttons. I guess the question is, did the button get pressed repeatedly or is there a fault with the fob causing false presses. There have been plenty of instances where a key fob in a pocket has caused buttons to be pressed, normally resulting in the windows opening I had it once when I got off a flight and couldn't remember where I'd left my car. Whilst wondering around the car parks, I pressed the fob enough times to lose sync so had to do the relearn via the drivers door lock...
  3. A 245 vRS has LED headlights not xenon 😉 I think the three parts are interchangeable based on https://www.skoda-parts.com/spare-part/5e1941016e-led-headlamp-right-complete-skoda-30628.html
  4. The eBay auction states: Genuine 'Fully Licensed' VCDS software with our VCDS HEX-NET Interface £20 seems fare enough, if it's already a VIN unlocked cable it doesn't actually cost them anything apart from their time to do a scan. They are likely hoping you'll then want more work doing and can make some money that way...
  5. I bought a 790A. Not sure I understand the second part? I'm not a seller so I don't have any for sale. My cluster was free due to some issues with it I had to fix.
  6. A Skoda dealer should sell one but it might be very expensive. I bought mine from UK eBay but it just depends if there is anything being sold that isn't flagged as stolen etc. Prices vary as they are quite a rare option. You should contact some online retrofit companies to see if they can do remote immoboliser/component protection with VAS6154a. You might even be able to do it yourself using https://t.me/vwservice_bot for a temporary ODIS online account. It certainly worked for me when I wanted to remove CP from a headunit I retrofitted.
  7. It's pretty easy with ODIS and can be done remotely if you have a VAS5054a or similar for very little money. The answer was in the other thread you just posted in...
  8. The two GSM/LTE antenna normally go behind the rear bumper, I think it's part number 3V0035497. You'd also need to wiring as that will not be fitted as standard but there are plenty of fakra cables on amazon/eBay which should work once you decide on the length.
  9. Have you asked the professional who fitted it? I believe it should be possible to enable the SIM assuming you add the extra antenna and wiring required.
  10. It might be worth considering having ACC retrofitted... Probably cheaper than changing car if it's the only thing you're missing. @East_Yorkshire_Retrofits might be able to help.
  11. If it's a generic OBD reader it might not show manufacturer specific codes... You need something designed for VAG vehicles like VCDS or OBDeleven.
  12. Are you saying the entire washer tank has emptied and now isn't holding fluid? If you only damage the headlight washer, then a little fluid will drain from the pipe but it will not empty the tank or effect the windscreen washer...
  13. The 9.2" display is only compatible with a MIB2.5 Columbus. Anything else won't work so the glovebox unit will need replacing. Others have updated MIB2 Columbus into MIB2.5 but as the OP has a Bolero, this is not an option.
  14. It won't work... The 8" and 9.2" screens use different resolutions so you will need a new glovebox unit too.
  15. Very quick search showed this: https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/450851-looking-at-a-roofbox-for-our-superb-estate/#findComment-5065816 Which is a 210x100x42cm 680L roof box on a Superb... https://www.roofcarriers.co.uk/roof-boxes/667-farad-roof-box-marlin-680l.html
  16. Either physical inspection to see what's printed on it. Otherwise most diagnostic equipment should tell you (carscanner, obdeleven, vcds, vcp, odis etc etc). Just a warning, if the classic car bulbs do fool the bulb warning detection, it's because they have internal load resistors. This could cause issues with bulb sockets melting depending how the bulb is used 🫠
  17. @Sammy-8989 - if it's a 2011 Superb as per your profile, it'll depend what BCM you have as it's around then that LED support was added. If the BCM is too old, no amount of coding will help. Unfortunately, VCDS isn't going to help you. It'll be a job for ODIS-e or VCP to directly access the lighting config section of the BCM EEPROM. Somewhat more advanced than most folk are capable of...
  18. Yes - that is correct and expected 😉 Almost every consumer in the car will use one of the many earth points around the chassis for the ground/negative which is what I expect your dashcam does.
  19. The tail is always fused... The only difference between the orientations is whether it goes through one fuse or two: Agreed - however in most circumstances, having both loads through the original fuse will cause no issues.
  20. It really didn't make much difference. I posted a couple of pics previously here https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/516544-dash-cam-fuse-orientation/#findComment-5787064
  21. UK spec vRS didn't get electrically folding mirrors as standard, only some special editions if I remember correctly. Sasha added a guide ages ago and also mentioned the part numbers for mid/high door controllers along with the coding:
  22. You probably want something starting with 565035020 or 565035021. The last letter doesn't matter as they can all be updated to the same software version. The difference is that 021 parts also have a SIM slot and antenna connecters. You're car wont have the wiring so it won't add anything useful unless you're planning to add GSM antennas. The 3V0 versions listed in the thread posted by PetrolDave are MIB2 and will need converting to MIB2.5 before they support the 9.2" screen. I have no details on how this is achieved...
  23. I recently swapped my MIB2 Amundsen for a Columbus. Yes, you will need both the screen and the glovebox unit. You will need to modify the display Farka connector on both ends as they are keyed and the new screen uses a different key. Trimming the connector with a sharp knife is easy enough. The other connectors/wiring will fit without modification. After fitting, you will need to remove component protection, add FEC/SWAP entitlements, upload the correct dataset and also rode the new glovebox unit to suit your car. If you go down the unofficial route, you can remove CP and add all FEC/SWAP codes with various free tools. However, you will be left with component protection fault codes in the headunit and CAN gateway which I don't believe effect anything. If you go down the official route and use ODIS online, everything will work apart from navigation as your cars VIN only has entitlement for MIB2 std maps. You can use the same free tools to add the MIB2 high map entitlement, it's also worth doing Gracenote and Electronic Voice Amplifier at the same time. This will leave you with no fault codes if done properly.
  24. It's all included in the normal owners manual: https://ownersmanuals.blob.core.windows.net/ownersmanuals/en/Octavia_5E/07-2018/OwnersManual.pdf
  25. Yes - It doesn't matter what tool you use as long as you make the correct changes. Just be aware that some of the channel description/names vary slightly between tools so be careful when searching. That's not entirely true. VCDS will work on SFD protected cars but doesn't provide the token for unlocking, you'll need to source that yourself: https://www.ross-tech.com/vcds/tour/sfd.php
