timing belt tensioner
When you say you had no tension did you have the tab locked in the block ? Apparently common to miss it. you could reuse the old one, it’s been on the car ex number of miles and been ok I take it But it would be always in my mind that it wasn’t changed It’s gamble only you can decide to make

Water inside left driver seat.
I had rain coming in a while back on drivers side but wasn’t bad ( but shouldn’t be doing it) removed scuttle panel to look, removed a rubber grommet above drivers pedal area and sealed that but didn’t think that would have been it. Also sealed the bolt hole on passenger side for LHD wiper mount as been reported in past. It was fine for a few weeks, then I couldn’t drive due to knee op so wife ended up having to drive me to hospital ( normally she doesn’t drive it as she sez it’s to big). she drives down the drive ( slopes down to garage) I reverse down. Windscreen got chipped and cracked on motorway coming back from hospital and she drove down drive ( this was other week when red hot so never rained) and car never moved for 2 week First time it rained it poured in, turned out windscreen wasn’t bonded and water was running down A post pillar trim in to dash and dripping in to foot well. pics of where windscreen wasn’t bonded I’ve video of it leaking in but file is to big and unsure what to do.

Maxidot changes
No, it’s kph as you don’t have it on your normal Mph gauge Unless it can be done by Vcd

workshop manual
I’ll probably end up doing mine by myself next time also. Only thing am not sure about is the cam and injection pump bolts if you have to replace them. Sure it’s torque then angle. would use the old ones 1st till I knew the timing was right then swap one by one which timing/locking set you ordered ?

workshop manual
I’d give a dealer a ring for a price. when mine needed done it was about £380 for parts from Tps £460 from dealer wasn’t worth the hassle me doing it but that was four years ago

It’s Raining in
Hi all this happened a good few weeks back and I thought I’d solved it but obviously I haven’t 😤 Done search on here last time also but now wanting advice. It has not got a sunroof so that’s ruled out Had scuttle panel off last time and all checked ( small grommet removed from drivers side and sealant added) Been ok until I got in car this morning 🤔 One thing I looked at last time was the wiper motor mountings ( could it be that ? ) I never done anything with them. But I am now wondering if it’s the windscreen, The 2nd picture is top of dash in corner by heater vent, slight sign of water and now wondering if it running down behind post trim ? 3rd pic is foot wheel trim just under fuse box Anybody had this ? And how do you remove that trim as it looks like it’s under the dashboard Any help would be greatly appreciated cheers

Rear discs
Yeah you can just join the wires together to disable the light but obviously you are doing away with pad wear warning. The harness joins into the abs harness which then disappears into the main harness ( seems a nightmare) I had to run a earth from front left abs sensor to abs pump after having abs fault ( wire had a break somewhere) The two rear carrier bolts are a pig to do Short M14 spline and wobble drive extension etc works best

Towbar help
I got a Westfalia fitted to my 2013 estate when I bought it in 2015. Its got a 13 pin plug ( I think, you say 15 🤔) but I use an adapter plug. When it’s removed you wouldn’t know it’s got a tow bar fitted, electric plug swings up out of the way also ( unable to do to with two plugs fitted) It also got programmed or coded what ever they do so it disable’s the reverse sensor and puts pic of caravan on screen just incase you forget the caravan is on when you reverse 🙄

Front left Abs Sensor
My fault came back right away when you knocked ignition on after clearing. You didn’t even have to move the car. Using both Obdeleven and Vcd’s (if I’ve got them right)

Front left Abs Sensor
Hi, just seen your comment. My lads an electrician and after watching YouTube knew which cable to check at the Abs pump plug. Thats when he discovered the earth cable was faulty. We just ran another earth cable in, looked in to buying a new one but the brake pad sensor is also joins in to and not on knowing where that went decided on just replacing the one wire. from memory it was the 2nd black cable up from the bottom in this top picture

Air bag warning light on
Hi all heater fan motor stopped working so stripped out glove box etc to remove fan. After a bit of this and that with checks it started working again. ( hopefully just a glitch) Issue is because I disconnected the air bag off switch I have the warning light on the dash. Do I need it plugged in to clear fault or is there a way round it cheers

Superb Estate Mk2 rear caliper Carrier bolt M14 spline - what is best tool?
Yeah that would probably be better, I have seen a shallow one since I bought mine which also would have been better. Like mentioned, it’s the top bolt that is the problem. Once the socket is on, the suspension arm is basically in the way

Superb Estate Mk2 rear caliper Carrier bolt M14 spline - what is best tool?
I use this but the 1st time of undoing them using this socket I had to use a wobble drive extension and a flex head ratchet ( long) Now just use a spanner on it like in pic and link another spanner to get some extra leverage

oil pressure switch
Is it because you don’t have the oil light indication when ignition is on ? I questioned this as I noticed I have no oil light but apparently that’s right according to people and watching YouTube seems to be correct. Seems to be strange
