Fabia 2021 + Amundsen SatNav - Reverse Camera Upgrade Possible?
It came with a replacement boot handle incorporating the camera, which replaced the original. Mine didn’t need coding, it was literally plug and play, once the cable routing had been done - others have said theirs had to be coded. But note, mine is Amundsen 2, whether this makes a difference, I don’t know.

Fabia 2021 + Amundsen SatNav - Reverse Camera Upgrade Possible?
Don’t know whether it helps, but I fitted an ‘AliExpress special” to the Amundsen 2 in my Octavia. Works fine.

Black badging?
Yep, definitely marmite! I’d’ve changed the black badges to match the bonnet badge. And then there’s the black grille… 👹👹

Reverse cam installation
I still randomly get a blank screen and the “ParkPilot is currently unavailable” message on my plug and play AliExpress version. When it works it’s perfect though…

Cars with nice backdrops...
- daytime running light power reduction (DRL)
I would have thought to have this done would cost more than replacement bulbs when they (if indeed they do in the life of the car) blow.- Eco mode / coasting in gear DSG
This is true, but when coasting you will travel much further than when ‘off throttle’ in gear, for instance when leaving a motorway, or approaching a roundabout, when you know you have to slow down, you can lift off so much earlier.- BEV Estates. There are only a few.
Personally I much prefer an estate (or even my Octavia 3 hatch) over an SUV, as I (may!) have posted on here before. Bigger boot, better ride, longer rear doors, no need for a stepladder when you wash it… yep, I like the look of this Pug.- Cruise or Limiter - what do you prefer?
For some reason, I don’t feel safe with the limiter. I know it’s unfounded, and I know you can override it, but I still don’t like it. With ACC, in normal use, it’s fine, I use it a lot, but I was caught out once on a motorway when I moved into an off slip road, and caught up with a truck in the inside lane (to my right) and the ACC braked heavily…- Rear Washer - Something a Little Different!
Glad you got it sorted. I used pliers because I didn’t want to risk breaking the jet by using the nozzle end as a lever, and I didn’t know how tight it would be. My car had hardly been used for 6 months or so as I have been unable to drive following a stroke (still not driving!). Of course, once the jet had been off, it was easy to refit and remove again.- Rear Washer - Something a Little Different!
I had to use pliers to remove the jet, but had no problem refitting it. For clearing the nozzles, I got the idea to use aerosol ‘power’ to clear them from a YouTube clip. I used a can of carb/brake cleaner and it worked fine, cleared them a treat. Just remove the spray jet from the can and push the input side of the washer jet onto the can. Unfortunately, the jets weren’t the problem on mine, nor has pushing wire down the pipe cured it, so I will have to investigate further.- Rear Washer Problem
Thanks again, I’ll persevere! 🤞- Rear Washer Problem
Apologies for coming back to you, but I’ve had the cover and jet off, and poked soft wire down the tube - went down 2.5” or so, but still no go. But it did come out coated with some black water though. The pump is definitely working, and the tank full. My ‘hub’ puller won’t fit, so I’ve not been able to remove the wiper arm, which seems to be seized on the spline. Having said that though, I don’t think that would help, as it seems the pipe runs through the motor.anyway. Am I barking up the right tree? Any help or other observations, please? Hope it’s not a complete new motor.- Rear Washer Problem
Thanks, thought it had to be, but I wanted to know which part of the tailgate lining to attack, as I’ve had trouble in the past getting the top fastenings to release.- Rear Washer Problem
Bump! Aston50uk - where is this ‘steel tube’, please? The pump is working fine on mine, washer bottle full, but the rear washer doesn’t. Wash, that is. I’m assuming the tube is near the wiper motor, rather than at the top of the tailgate, but perhaps someone could advise, please. Thanks- Octavia Scout 2016 - Flip the direction of gearchanges
Each to his own, I suppose. When I built my JZR, which has a sequential gearbox from a Honda motorcycle, I chose to have push forward for up changes, pull back to change down. It was just a case of where I put the gear lever’s linkage - above or below the pivot. Possibly not quite as simple with a DSG though…- Gasoline engine

Dunno about any other, but I’m more than happy with my facelift 1.4 Tsi. The car does everything I want it to.- How To - Reverse Camera Fitting Guide
I installed mine ages ago, and when it works, it works fine, but a lot of the time it doesn’t, the screen is blank, as I’ve posted previously. But I’d not mentioned that the message ‘parking pilot currently not available ’ (or words to that effect) comes up on the screen once reverse is de-selected. The OE sensors still sound, and display at the side of the otherwise blank screen. Does this extra info give anyone any clue as to why the camera only works intermittently? I’ve checked all the connections several times, to no effect.- Rejecting My IV
I’ve found that the extended warranty I bought through the dealer wasn’t recognised by the dealer, without a lot of ‘discussion’ with the service manager. Then, when they finally found it, I discovered it was just about as useful to me as a chocolate fire guard, as, yes, I was told that any work can be done by a VAT registered indie, if using genuine parts - fine - except when I came to claim I found out that the vehicle must be first examined by a (Skoda) branch of that dealership, and the repair authorised by them. Unfortunately there isn’t one locally… OK, I know I should have read the small print, but the insurance-based warranty I had on my previous car, a Volvo, had work authorised on a phone call.- Two pictures…almost 60 years apart
Thanks. Must admit though, as I’ve posted before, my usual bike engined transport has stabilisers at the front…(these pics are taken 25 years apart, the second one being when I first put it on the road in 1998)- Two pictures…almost 60 years apart
In 1963, when I took my bike test, you could have L plates on any bike up to 250cc, and when you passed your test, you could ride any bike. I bought the Norton on the Saturday after I passed my test on the Thursday, (on a Lambretta scooter!) at 16yrs and 4 months. How rules have changed. I remember to test the emergency stop, the examiner would step out in the road in front of you. I wonder how many examiners had walked out in front of the wrong biker…- Car locked with key inside Beware
Even Mrs B’s lowly Nissan Note won’t let you lock the car with the keys anywhere in the car, including the boot. But having said that, imo, the OP’s first mistake was leaving the spare key at home on that sort of trip- What would you like to ask Skoda?
Please can I spec a beige interior for a new Octavia…- Faded Roofbars
