Query bent stub axle
there's autotech in stapleford who's a vag specialist who I've been using for a long time now and he's very good and well priced. regarding the back plate have you had the wheels off and had a look? these sometimes become rusty and break down at the fixing points leading to them moving about and making noise. have you had the tracking checked?

Misfiring on cylinder 2 and oil on piston.
so when you say no compression is tis actually 0 or low ? any other compression issues or just no2 ? the rings were probably seized or not sealing well possibly due to excess fuelling ..Any petrol smell in the sump ? could also be a water leak maybe how many miles has it done? I wouldn't drive it - might need new rings but maybe more

Upgrades
performance and handling wise a good start would be better springs and shocks, uprated rear anti roll bar and a remap that should be a decent base. assuming you engine is Skoda 1.4 TSI 147 bhp from a remap you'd be looking at 185bhp 294 Nm

Anybody experienced Mapping by Performance Torque?
so thought I'd update. really nice premises very clean and professional, free Coffee/Tea, water, TV and even an xbox to keep you busy while waiting , Will is a thoroughly nice dude and spent the time to explain what he was doing and what effect that has on the car and spent a good 2.5 hours on the car getting it to where he was happy utilising multiple dyno runs ( print out shows 7 runs in total) ended up with 228bhp and 431nm. I have since driven around 250 miles an I can honesty say he's done a great job! the curve is super smooth and the pull is very linear the car drives really nice now much better than before , power when requested is almost instant, there's no hesitation, no clutch slip, the traction control light hasn't even come on (granted I've not given it the beans yet) and as an added bonus the mpg seems better too it ran 63.8mpg on the way home! and on the commute this morning normally gets high 40's but today ended at 53mpg. Overall I'm really happy with it and the job Will has done, I highly recommend him and won't hesitate taking my next car to him- I definitely wont be waiting as long next time!

Gissin's White vRS project
super happy, will spent a good 3 hours on it. the car was running really well and very clean (guess all the motorway miles / good fuels and cleaners do help) so ended up pulling 185 non mapped delivery of power is very lineal and a really smooth in all the gears ..wish I had done it sooner 😅

Looking to buy a VRS Petrol
if it's a large dealer they might be able to move it to a closer location - but yeah you're probably going to have to travel to get the one you want (Think mine was 1.5hrs away when I got it) id recommend driving a few local from say at available car to work out exactly what you're after h

Looking to buy a VRS Petrol
I've seen that 230 looks like a cracking car if I wasn't planning on moving house again in the next 12 months I'd be off to have a look at it.

Is a Racingline map worth the extra money?
do you know how? can it be coded via ob eleven/VCDS or does it have to be mapped?

Eml light
you should be able to full throttle your car without error codes popping up - that's a sign something's wrong (potentially) P2196 VOLKSWAGEN Possible Causes What does this mean? Faulty Front Heated Oxygen Sensor Bank 1 Front Heated Oxygen Sensor Bank 1 harness is open or shorted Front Heated Oxygen Sensor Bank 1 circuit poor electrical connection Inappropriate fuel pressure Faulty fuel injectors Intake air leaks may be faulty Vacuums leaks so you might see reduced mileage (depending how long you've had the car you might not have noticed) maybe the oxygen sensor is starting to fail check the wiring also have a look at your air filer and maf sensor whilst you're at it,

Fitting reverse camera
I assume you're only joking so I won't go into it - but yeah, fuel light will be on the dash so I'd want to get that off as soon possible , as the light goes on ( 80 miles on mine) I go fill up. also don't trust that gauge.

Fitting reverse camera
your fuel gauge / range would really bother me

Gissin's White vRS project
picked up some new bits previous buckets are old and small .. so x2 megs 5 gallon buckets and grit guards, wheel brush as my micro fibers torn polar blast snow foam (my BH auto has ran out so thought I'd give something else a go) megs ultimate detailer and a new bottle of miller's as I'd ran out and used a full tank with the turbo cleaner going through.. no, I didn't notice any difference but maybe it's cleaned, maybe it was a waste.
