  1. Yes this is a common problem on older alloys. You can either get a tyre place to remove the tyres, clean up the bead seats and refit the tyres with bead sealer or you could get your wheels reconditioned. Reconditioning is the better, longer term solution, the bead sealer will need to be redone whenever you get new tyres but that should be included in the cost of fitting (be warned it might not though). Also you get lovely looking wheels again with reconditioning. Hope this helps.
  2. It could be the lever by the seat seized up. Or the cable has gotten nipped somewhere or has corroded up and seized itself. For the lever, try and get some spray in about it and try working it and see if it frees up. You're probably looking at taking that whole trim panel off to trace and check the cable too. Have you been doing any work along the interior, about the doors that you might have pressed on the cable? That might narrow things down. Let us know how you get on.
  3. Was the lever very hard to move or did it come all the way up and do nothing?
  4. That gold/beige coloured dust would never come out of your clothes though.
  5. The car that has sparked this out-pouring of @Lofty's stored knowledge would be a nice little car cleaned up. It is just dirt that's on the seats. A fair bit of manky, greasey dirt. I motion to have this thread stickied as a "Mk 1 Fabia editions" thread. Keep them coming guys!
  6. Very jealous here! That'll be a good project thread to follow. You lucky so and so.
  7. I am starting to wish I'd just gotten a hub. I will be getting one for the other side if/when the bearing fails as one of the threads in the caliper carrier lugs have stripped. Although that might never happen as the bearing was apparently changed not long ago.
  8. Tried mine tonight but the bearing wouldn't budge. Then the rear nut departed the rod of the puller and that was the end of that. Also encountered the dreaded rusted in ABS sensor so that was promptly destroyed with a cold chisel. The bolt was also well rusted and seized in but the destruction of the sensor helped with that too. So I'll have to wait for a new puller before I can give it a go again.
  9. Yeah mine sinks with me nudging the lever getting in and out. I usually just pull it back up a notch every time I get in. It's an unfortunate side effect of the placement and size of the lever that it's right where your leg ends up as you step out of the car.
  10. It is entirely possible I've seen one with a very similar plate on. We do have a Kia dealership up here so there was quite a few Picantos about. The Kias don't like the salty air though. Even with their seven year warranty.
  11. The reservoir is on top of the pump incase you haven't seen it. If you undo the inner wheel arch liner, you'll see the whole assembly. As shown above. Edit: Sorry @TMB your pic didn't show up for some reason before I replied.
  12. @e-RoottootI'm sure I've seen that Picanto up here in my neck of the woods. That number plate seems very familiar to me for some reason. Apologies for the thread derailment. I have no experience of a Citigo ASG at all.
  13. Also remember that once fluid has leaked it can run along an under panel for example if it doesn't have a direct fall to the ground. I would check the radiator for leaks as well. It's not the easiest to see if you don't have the car up in the air though. On the plus side you will have the tell tale pink residue from wherever the leak is coming from. Hope this helps and let us know how you get on.
  14. That's funny, No. 3 was the one that went on my one too. Could be heat sink related being right in the middle of the engine but that's purely speculation. As for tests to determine if one is on its way, you can either resistance test the coils of each injector and compare the results, they should all be within a nearness if ok or way different if on the way. Or you could get someone with VCDS, if you don't have it, to measure the volumetric variances between the injectors although this doesn't necessarily mean one is on its way out. Hope this helps.
  15. Liking the look of those pipes Matt. That's the kind of thing I would consider doing if I wasn't such a stickler for stock original!
  16. If the car has cornering lights too, the bulbs might well be twin filament and so it's possible just the ones that do the fog lights have failed independently of the cornering function ones.
  17. Psst... Guys... Don't tell DieselMonte but his old Fabia is actually sitting higher at the back now. Newer, not sagging springs for you eh. Good that it feels better to drive though.
  18. You shouldn't have to pull out the fuse, just ease the pipes off, have a tray underneath to catch any spillage. Make sure to put the pipes on in the right order. You can either use a big syringe to fill the filter with clean diesel or fit the filter and cycle the ignition on and off to use the fuel pump to prime it (you'll need to do it more than ten times probably). Hope this helps.
  19. That's the very thing. Thanks Wino! I couldn't see a part number but that doesn't mean there wasn't one. I can't say I noticed the big circlip to hold the cap in either so that's something I'll have to look at too.
  20. Hi guys, I was checking the car over up on the lift this evening and discovered a slight leak of oil at the chassis end of the gearbox. It was coming from quite high up but there is nothing above where the end plug/cap in the casing. I think it might have rusted/corroded through. Is this end cap easily replaceable and is it available to order from TPS is what I'm wondering? I'll find out on Monday anyway but I thought someone here might know. Also does anyone have any pics of how it should look in place? Thanks in advance.
  21. I wouldn't be worrying about the "rust" you have there. Brake discs here go like that after an hour! They'll clean up nicely I would say.
  22. Yes they are Skoda part numbers but they are still made by Mann or Mahle or whoever. I think, looking at the pictures again, the 653 is the activated carbon and the 669 with the yellow in it is the all singing antibac. Good luck choosing!
  23. Really? I use the key holder all the time and have never experienced that problem. As for the cup holders... I can't really add anything. They are too small. Some of the takeaway cups do fit but are then too short to pick up properly.
  24. Yes either should fit. They both look the same in pics, possibly just different manufacturers.
  25. Yes absolutely. The only real difference between a USB stick and an SD card is their outer appearance. The the memory storage section inside and the way it works is the same for both as @vegit8 stated. I'm sure someone with more knowledge may be able to correct me if I'm wrong.
